I see that Arlesey Town supremo Chico Ramos has swooped to re-sign Ryan Hilliard who had been at Hitchin Road previously at youth level, although obviously not on a par with Herclano Carvalho it is still a very shrewd signing and Arlesey Town could mean business this season, particularly with Dave Kitson calling the shots from the top:

A nice article on Dave Kitson in the Herts Advertiser today ahead of the new SSML Premier Division campaign:

Kick-off 2021: Dave Kitson has big plans for Arlesey Town | Herts Advertiser

And he has plans, big and small, for a club that is still close to his heart.

A very interesting and exciting announcement from the Hitchin Road Club:

CLUB ANNOUNCEMENT
This is an exciting time for everybody associated with Arlesey Town Football Club.
After months of hard work by everybody connected to the club, we are pleased to announce that the official opening date of our brand new refurbished bar will be Saturday, 11th September. In addition, we are very excited to unveil our new club badge. Back in May the club ran a competition through Etonbury School to design a new club badge. Over 500 students entered the competition and after careful deliberation, the club was delighted to choose the winning design by Emma Martin.
But that is not all, in tomorrows match day programme, Chairman, Dave Kitson, will officially announce an amazing gesture which will be available to every single home in Arlesey. Below is an exclusive extract from his programme notes:
"As a thank you for the patience that you have shown while we refurbish your clubhouse, the committee and I have decided to issue every single household in Arlesey (2,700) with a free half season ticket running up to the 26th December. These half season tickets will be sent out at the end of September via your copy of Arlesey News Magazine, a free publication that is delivered door to door".
Arlesey Town Football Club has a history that goes back 130 years. Today we find ourselves in an exciting period of change - possibly the most exciting period of change in the clubs history - and we want the whole community to be part of it, for now and for the future. Join us on 11th September as we embark on the next chapter of our incredible story.

Line ups from Arlesey Town v Walden Rangers in a 1981/82 South Midlands League Premier Division fixture at the old Lamb Meadow ground on Saturday 13 March 1982, Walden Rangers were founder members of the newly formed SSML in 1997/98 but left at the end of the 1998/99 campaign. Arlesey Town left the South Midlands League for the United Counties League at the end of that 1981/82 season and didn't return until 1992/93, not long before lifting the FA Vase at Wembley:

Mr Hill refereed the 1988 final, when "the crazy gang beat the culture club".

A 16 year old Mr Kirkup would go on to be a long standing FIFA and Premier League assistant referee, who retired at the end of the 21/22 season
