How are Town allowed to play Tuesday,Arsenal are on TV so using LS logic with a local team on TV we should all be at home sat in front of it?

What an idiot he/she/it is.

(dont even start stupid south londoners comments)

my point is sod the TV get out and support OUR team, not someone else`s that happens to be on the box,by OURs I mean the team WE own.

Why the personal comments directed at LS, brunob, he's making a valid point. The job of the fixtures secretary must, I know, be a difficult one but it's not stupid to suggest that the 'floating' supporter might be tempted to sit in front of the tv rather than attend if there's an attractive game on. You only need to compare the crowd figures for St Ives and Stansted to that for AFC Sudbury to see the truth of this.

Why is it so bad to support different teams who play in different leagues? Admittedly if ETFC played Liverpool I might have a problem but I don't see any prospect of that soon. Presumably if the Ladies' team should play at the same time as the men's you too would have a choice to make?

So if ETFC played Scouspool who would u support?

One of my biggest disappointments was that Enfield never played Southport in the Conference. I would of had to wear a scarf for each team and pray for a draw.

Now if we ever played in the cup......

My point is that so many Towners support other teams that if you start arranging Town fixtures around TV schedules then where would it end?It is best not to start this kind of rubbish.

The ladies team have played at the same time the last two sundays and I made my choice without wanting everybody else to make alternative plans.

I also followed the Town to Stansted instead of staying at home and watching Arsenal.

You are totally missing the point brunob.Tuesdays at 7.45 and saturdays at 3.00 are standard times for games. If games clash with them,so be it.I agree you can't go changing fixture times to avoid games on TV.The difference with the St Ive's game was that we HAD to rearrange the fixture for the Sunday. SO our fixtures secratary was free (within reason) to arrange a convienient time to stage the game. WHY clash with a Local premiership team on TV ,WHEN YOU DON'T HAVE TO.?????

Making the game a 2.00pm kick off would have added 40 or 50 onto the gate.Over 100 people don't just disapear for no reason.

The difference is brunob. ETFC ARE my team. ETFC are you're SECOND team (behind ETFC Ladies). So forgive me for thinking that sometimes you may have ulterior motives for your 'take' on things.

ETFC are my team but I agreed to take on a job for ETLFC and I will honour that commitment, both the sunday games i watched the ladies and then rushed to Town game.

I would rather be at ETFC game.

I had more of a reason to be unhappy about St Ives game and time than you would ever know but I will not air that here.
