FA Grade E grounds?

Recommended Posts

Quite right ST and there is still the biq question mark hanging over us in that the FA want 12 leagues instead of 15 by 2007/8 or even 2006/7 - all the ESL clubs know what they have to do -if they don't the the ESL will be doing the F A a greta big favour and having to disemminate what is left into other leagues to make the 12

Well one side of the coin is that if you're are going to re-structure the game (or more accurately structure it!) the facilities and stadium are the best starting point.

However, the ground requirements are there for a purpose and must be realistic. At present they are not. How many clubs at the ESL level attract crowds of over 50? There are many clubs at Ryman Prem level that stuggle to get over 100. So what is th epoint in wasting what little money there is in the game on shiny stands seating 150 and covered terracing for 150 or whatever it is? Pure ego on the part of the badge and blazer boys.

Let's have apprpriate and realistic requirements for step 5 - a rail round the pitch, floodlights, hardstanding, some covered standing (maybe?) changing facilities and toilets. What more do you need for Step 5? Do you even really need a clubhouse?

whilst I agree Compo has a first class honours in talking cr@p most of the time, he was only quoting another Annon contributor.

as mentioned elsewhere there are only a handful of clubs that could have E grading at the end of April 2005

If the team given a year to get their ground up to standard get promoted again,do they get another year to bring their ground up to the new standard or do they get relegated back below into the league they originaly came from, effectively TWO relegations?
