to be fair lovely stuff it doesnt really matter to me, most of you lot are decent people and i know that.

with regards to the other incidents and that, its a bit of a shame.

the game never really got going but it very rarely does with games where there is a lot at stake....which at this stage of the season is mainly pride.

the pitch was bad your right but what can we do about that? i thought your lads played some good football on it and i dont think you deserved to lose. but we are more than happy with the result but know there is a long way to go.

good luck next sunday.

I think I can say that all the problems in this game were caused by one of the poorest referees I have ever seen and also two very poor linesmen. Yes the Abbey players did go down with a number of injuries that Town players and fans thought were false but It was the ref who should of stampded on this. I agree that perhaps the Abbey players should not have taunted the Town supporters when the 2nd goal went in but again the ref should have dealt with it. I thought that overall the banter between the fans were ok and it made for a game with some atmosphere something that both teams do not normally experience. As for the idiot who tried to attack the linesman and then spat at the abbey players at the end I as a former Enfield and Enfield Town supporter apologise to all at Waltham Abbey as we seem over the period of the Essex senior League to have had a great relationship between the two set of supporters and players over the net. I hope that we at Enfield Town never see this idiot at an Enfield Town game again.

TheEYE your comments are right mate.

we shouldnt of celebrated their! BLAME DOT COM though we just celebrated where he ran! he should of gone to our fans but thats that anyway.

your right there is a good relationship between the two clubs and hopefully the minority wont have spoilt that.

your players were also graceful in defeat and im not being funny saying that they were all big enough to take it so credit where its due.

Pinnicle. Most of your players are a credit to you.

But tell your No 6 to 'pull his neck in'. Everytime i see him play he's always looks like a red card candidate. He probably a nice bloke off the pitch. But he always acts like a bit of a prat ON the pitch.Even the time i went to watch the Abbey against Barkingside, he got away with blantently headbutting an opponant. And suprisingly he was the main 'wind-up merchant' when the second goal went in yesterday. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/pink_md_wht.gif" alt="" />

AMBER NECTAR SAYS... Well a comment from me .All this pish from one insignificant level 5 match how sad you all are.Even though i dispise enfild town i hate waltam abbey a tad more.Bird and his boosum bubby brasset at cheshunt are as loyal to there clubs as lord haw haw was to wartime britain as long as birds at the abbey i hope they suffer many many misfortunes. As for enfield town you have to get rid of chandler unless you want insignificant level 5 football for keeps.

Lets face it, lads, it wasn't a great day for ETFC, Abbey or ESL football - the occasion seemed to get the better of some people and the referee and his officials certainly contributed there.

The football wasn't great from either side - the pitch didn't help either - but Abbey were organised and I guess played pretty much to their game plan. Different decisions from the officials could have led to a totally different game but players tend to get away with what they can these days. It's the ref's job to set the tone and he certainly did that by booking Graham Butler for an over zealous early tackle (when he went for the ball and was beaten by the dreadful pitch) and not following up in similar style when the Abbey youngsters put in some tough tackles themselves. A quiet, but firm, word for the first challenge would have been better but, having booked him, he needed to be consistent thereafter and just wasn't. In the first half I thought he simply handled it badly - I'm afraid there just are no rational explanations for many of those second half decisions though. Has anybody ever seen so many drop-balls in a game? Or with such bad sportsmanship when the game resumed not being dealt with by the ref? The reaction of Abbey's supporters to their second goal could perhaps be put down to over exuberance but again, the ref had set the tone and they KNEW no action would be taken. In a Premiership game that sort of behaviour would have resulted in red cards for the very reason that there was a danger of inciting the crowd - and, regretfully, it did.

That having been said, any forms of violence or personal abuse are not acceptable at football matches and the minority who were apparently involved in that should be ashamed. I'm sure that behaviour of that sort will not be tolerated at Goldsdown Road in the return game, whenever that may be.

Not having a go at the Abbey players here, by the way - in the main they are a credit to their club and it's nice to trade banter on here with Pinnacle and others. They are a young set of players and I've no doubt they'll have learnt from yesterday's experience. Well done on the result - not sure it was the right one yesterday but your season overall has earned you the right to be top.

As for the Town, a bad day at the Office but I'm sure Jim can get them focussed again for this week's two games. Yesterday's result could, and should have been, very different so the players should not be too despondant.

first i never said anything about prosecution!

i was told by a very good source that they did not say thank you to her for what she did thats all!

as for the spitting i think that is the worst thing to spit at somebody do not agree with that at all! like people have said i hope we dont see that person at any game again! (but various people have said they have never seen him before)

at the end of the day we lost fair enough and yes we were big enough to be graceful and shake the hand of the abbey players and wish them all the best! pinnacle can back me up on this one!

yes chopper you and your management were all gracious, your fans were not, you lost end of, why oh why do they always blame the ref? Up until the first goal not a word was said then it went pear shaped for them...players celebrating? come on you tell me your team would not have done the same anywhere, big crowds draw big reaction, when you get stuffed you have to take it.....it happens everywhere, as for the chanting that happens every week and no ones moans they take it with a pinch of salt.......but oh no ETFC come to town, find that they have competition on the terrace as well as on the the pitch and cant handle it.............its rude and abusive ITS FOOTBALL

The only reason the bad feeling started in the crowd was because the Abbey chav supporters were constantly singing the likes of;

"Who the f******g hell are you", "Are you inbreds in disguise?", "F**k of Enfield"... etc.

Completely no need for the abusive songs, something which ETFC fans do not use. The simple fact is that the Abbey kindergarten players/supporters got over excited, and wanted to intimidate the ETFC fans.

And sadly, I suspect this will lead to retaliation at Goldsdown Road by a minority of ETFC fans, who will equally, get over excited.

Nobody knows who the 'spitter' was, and surprised he was a "towner" as no-one has met him or seen him at brimmo before.
The source was me. When people asked if Abbey said thank you i replied honestly with no; if someone did, sorry but i didnt hear so. other than i should have stopped selling earlier and how much was it, nobody said anything (that i heard) so sorry if you did.
I think most people at Abbey are very friendly, but must admit there Reserve players /guys behind the goal shouted un-neccesary things and when scored for the second time nearly trampled me doing the conga!!
At ETFC if anybody does use bad language they always get told to shutup or change the 'lyrics' one towner shouted very rude things at the Ref so i told him not to use such language but what is the point when the Abbey do?!
there were lots of 'kids' younger than myself there yesterday and i dont think its right to use excessive swearing in front of 'children'.

Now that Abbey's CUP TIE is over all there so called fans can go into hiding again. I wonder how many caravan loads they take to hullbridge next week or are the reserves playing?

Last sesason Abbey were doing s*it in the league and in the 2 league games last season you hardly noticed an Abbey fan, yet now they are top of the league all these 'people' come to see them i think theres a word for that ah yes GLORYHUNTERS.

Were did those no good 1st teamers/reserves get those stupid green wigs? Did you mug Grotbags?

We broke WA record attendance and next sunday we will no doubt break Enfield's record attendance since the Towners were born.

Towners will show BOUNCEBACKABILITY.

some of you lot are idiots! take it you lost! simple fact. did any of your players get spat at by our fans? no just name calling, come on, so name calling is not allowed. at every game this season our fans have sang the same song to opposing players and they just laugh.

do you want me to repeat things your fans said to me?? i dont harp on about it cos it dont hurt me, spitting in my face is scum.

"who the [****!!****] are enfield?" if you cant sing that then we may as well all go home...once the league is wrapped up anyway.

sorry to all you decent town fans cos i genuinely like you, as with chopper (top bloke) but some of you just talk so muc sh1t its a joke.
