Enfield Town put on an at times showboating to beat London APSA in a convincing performance. Well done Jim and the boys for conscientiously doing their homework and it showed.

Town took the lead in the 4th minute with a maiden goal for Dean Green, Towns new signing from Farnborough Town. Who didn’t rise salmon like but just nodded a lovely goal. 1 – 0. Dean Nyman then had a one on one with the keeper which he valiantly saved. David Allen headed just wide. In the 19th minute from a set piece Rudi Hall score through the wall leaving the keeper no chance to save in the bottom corner. 2 – 0. Dean Nyman headed just wide. It started to get embarrassing as Town lined up to take shots almost at will. A lovely shot from a very hardworking Lee Smith was saved by the keeper. Here endeth the first half and town were passing well and looking comfortable.

After half-time Lee Smith had another very good shot saved. Down the other end a free kick from well out beat Chopper only to be stopped by the post in what was arguably the only time London APSA looked like scoring.

Town fans sang “Thank you very much for beating Abbey, thank you very much thank you very very very much.”

Lee Smith had an incoming high ball which he shot just wide (it looked like it was going in ).

Graeme Hall Subbed by Seb Ndombe

Dean Nyman had a good shot saved.

A London APSA player went down injured and a person appeared from the London APSA bench with no physios kit only a "water bottle". Town fans were concerned for the well being of the player should his injury have been worse.

In the 89th minute a goal mouth scramble allowed Byfield to lay the ball back for Seb Ndombe to smash home 3 – 0. 3 well deserved points.

And spare a thought for the linesman who stood in as referee today. Town fans in the bar afterwards compared his performance the Calena “He’s no Calena” but he did extremely well” and town fans were impressed with his performance when compared to other ESL referees. Praise indeed!

Best ref we've ever had in the four seasons of being in the ESL.Why is he normaly just a linesman.?

How can you criticize the APSA physio. I would describe the look as 'smart casual'.Brown leather jacket ,jeans, designer trainers, and a bottle of water..What more does a 'physio about town' need ? .By the time he tried to get across the pich with getting his trainers muddy, the poor player had got up anyway.

I know some people @ Town (can't think of any at the moment) have berated the refs in ESL.

what a breath of fresh air yesterday was well done ref

Compo - where was the show boating? was that when Chopper knew the ball was going to hit the post and come out? A 2-1 scoreline at that point and i think the nerves would have set in.

I can see how APSA are capable of beating teams, they soak up pressure and hit people on the break - we experienced it last season.

What does Lee Smith have to do to score? he works hard, had some great shots, he was even in player profile!

Once we went two up the lads relaxed and the flow of the ball from player to player was excellent. Chopper laying on his towel and with a bottle of sun tan lotion relaxing did make the nerves jangle a bit, but he is still top man for me!

So it was Junior that put the mockers on Lee scoring lol!

Yesterday's ref is a ref on the league having graduated from the line.

One of the best things that came from yesterday's game was a man who turned up for the first time with his two boys. We had not seen them before but by the end of the game, the dad had a scarf, the boys had spent quite a few pounds at the shop and they were asking the player's for their signatures! Apparently Chopper just put an X as he is not too good on matchdays with his hands!!

When asked what they thought of the game, the boys said 'it was wicked'. I took their answer to be that they had enjoyed themselves. No doubt they will be back next week and we look forward to seeing more youngsters who will be the future of ETFC.

a shame that Dean looks so much like other Town players, this could be why the mad man on the mic, thought geordie had scored!

easy mistake, they are both tall

A bit harsh when we were very close to the action compared to "mad man" at the other end of the pitch.
