Yes, Pip has also serviced my gas boiler too, although this was about two years ago. It was particularly nice to see him as we went to school together. We spoke about his son Danny and how his mother, a life long Fleet supporter still went to home games. However, I seem to recall that he said that he had a season ticket for a London club so didn't get down to Stoebridge Road. Pip had the makings of being one of our all-time greats and I am sure would have gone on to play at a higher level had injury not cut short his promising career.

 

I would also remark that Alan Seward, a very well regarded local footballer (who was also in the same class as us at school), turned out for the Fleet a couple of times in the 1970s.

 

To make this a trio of connections to the Fleet, the recently deceased Fleet/Spurs legend Ted Ditchburn's nephew Stephen was also in the same class at our school ( Sweyne County Primary ).
