New Manager

I am very pleased to announce Matt Jones as our new Manager, and I’m delighted that his preferred choice was Billericay.

 

We had several enquiries from experienced managers which has shown me that Billericay is a club that football people respect, and want

to be a part of.

But after some long discussions with Matt, I knew he was the one for us.

He is his own man, he’s very ambitious, and has a steely desire to succeed, not only that, he is a top class coach as well.

Well done Matt..in many ways it would have been easier for him to follow Justin to Fisher..but he's made the ballsy and in my view correct decision. Hopefully if some of our senior players were tempted to go elsewhere this appointment will change their minds.

 

I'm sure all the supporters will get behind Matt and his team tomorrow and going forward.

Matt is obviously very well known to the club, and held in very high regard which is why we wanted him to stay on as manager. As Matt said "last night this is a great opportunity for somebody" and I think everybody is glad he's decided to take that opportunity for himself.

 

Early days yet, obviously, but any news on an assistant?
