Billericay 4 Worthing 2

Good result. According to Gazza texts (cheers Gaz), Worthing went 1-0 up with an early penalty. Then Jo Flack equalised, Henty put us in front, then Hunter and Poole scored in quick succession to make it comfortable. Worthing got one back late on. Important result to keep those play off hopes alive

Jim, no problem...Missed the build up to Leon's goal though. Looked up, saw the ball floating in and Leon bundling in the keeper and ball

Good game - nice to see a game with both sides trying to play a bit of football!

Started well, but went behind to a pen - somewhat harshly given in my opinion - when a Worthing cross hit Pat's hand - spoke to him afterwards, and he reckoned there was no way he could get out of the way.

Flack headed in a superb cross from Hodges at the far post to equalise. Minutes later went off after getting an elbow in the face - apparently off to hospital with a broken nose.

Early in the second half Gary Henty's given us the lead when it's opened up for him to cut in off the right wing and fire in a low shot that took a slight deflection.

Minutes later Leon's made it 3-1, heading in from close tange after Nathan headed a Henty cross back accross goal. Tom Poole scored the 4th after an excellent move involving Nathan and Hodges. They've pulled a goal back back when Stafford headed in, but offered little else in front of goal.

Excellent debut for Lee Hodges, good to see Flack get his first (competetive) goal for us, and some good football from all the players.

Echo that - good day out, well done to "btfc travel" for running the coach, much appreciated.

Ricky had a dose of the flu, but it showed the advantage of having 2 good young keepers at the club - Dale came in and did well, looks more decisive with his handling than in some of his earlier starts for us.

We've had a couple of the lads go down with flu in recent weeks, Collins and Gameo to name 2.

As for other squad changes, Beech has left (although I think Elder-Flack was most peoples preferred strike partnership anyway) and with Nathan fully over his dead leg he was always going to start. Warren travelled with the squad, but wasn't selected for the 16 allowing Hodges to start on the left of midfield with Dorms moving into the middle.

A great game and one that showed what happens when we go and create more chances and get more crosses in. The boys in white were magnificent (again). Difficult to pick a MOM but I'll go for Lee Hodges. His delivery was, bar one cross, spot on and put Worthing in all sorts of trouble. Well done the lads.

Now that gary henty has scored his one goal of the season, is there any chance Kerrers can break his duck?

One word about Worthing. Jl mentioned after the game that both sides wanted to play football and I would concour. Worthing were certainly not just about banging the ball down the channels like some of the teams we play in this league (my Ryman "*****"). Thier defence was looking a bit shaky all game and they are a better team going forward, from what I saw. I look forward to our next meet in 9 days time.

Excellent performance, great football.

Four different scorers was nice, Joe looks like he has lots of goals in him, I was pleased that Leon scored the second, the run he made from deep in our half deserved a goal.

Gary’s goal was a corker and should inspire everyone to take a chance, and Tom, well his goal ratio speaks for itself.

I though Dale did well enough to give Matt a selection problem, well done.

Nathan was outstanding...in fact the team as a whole was outstanding.

Great stuff.

Joe's injury is worse than first thought; he has to have his nose re-set.....ouch. So he will be out for a few weeks at least.

Ouch. Hope to see a quick recovery to flack he looks so promising.

Great day out. Superb support.

Great to see how much Hunter enjoyed his Goal i could have sworn he was close to tearing through that net.

My MOM goes to Leon. Him and dormer are an awesome partnership in the middle. Hodges looked excellent out left aswell and played some great passes throughout the game.

Excellent football through out.

Well done To Matt and the boys.

Think the quote of the day was from Matt Jones in the bar 1 hour before the game watching the Wigan/Liverpool game looking totally relaxed. I said to him "your looking relaxed Matt" - He just said, "The boys are in the changing room they know what to do" - Think he meant they could get changed themselves! Quality! - Very impressed with the all round team performance today. Coming back from 1 down to overun a good team was impressive. Bad news about Flack, and still not sure how he headed it in from that angle. As said a superb ALL ROUND TEAM PERFORMANCE. All the team can do is go out and play as best they can and that is the most satisfying part of watching (win, draw, lose) Well done EVERYONE !
