Just as I was getting used to the idea of playing big games against AFC WImbledon, Chelmsford & the Chockers it looks like its not going to happen after all.
The only good thing is we might be able to compete better in the Ryman North and hopefully win promotion where as in the Premier I could only see us struggle.

Agree, Ryman Premier would have been fun but I couldn't really see us up there challenging. At the end of the day people would rather watch a winning team and I think we are quite capable of winning promotion from that league at the first attempt.

Here's a few stats picked up from another's site:

Furthest Away Trip - Arlesey (72 miles)

Shortest Away Trip - Great Wakering Rovers (16 miles)

Total Mileage - 782

Compare that to last season in the Conference...

Furthest Away Trip - Morecambe (278 miles)

Shortest Away Trip - Grays (16 miles)

Total Mileage - 3,273

This is what next season's map looks like:

Yes, getting used to the idea of this Ryman 1 now, and it must be the only league to feature 6 teams beginning with W !!! Also I cant beleive the original Enfield are still going, have they got any fans left and what did happen to all the money from the sale of their ground. Lastly if anyone can help, whats happened to Clapton FC now Ryman 2 has gone, cant find out anywhere, cheers !

Just them for now. Their constitution doesn't appear to be finalised yet and there is talk of them conjuring something up with the Kent Senior League to make up the numbers.

Quite a few teams' grounds are within walking distance of each other.

Aveley - Hornchurch

Barking & East Ham - Ilford

Ilford - Redbridge

Waltham Forest - Waltham Abbey

Waltham Abbey - Enfield Town

Wingate & Finchley - Potters Bar Town

We could probably walk to both Tilbury & Great Wakering too.

They're all walking distance to us! We passed Hornchurch FC on the Dagenham walk, right by my favourite street name, "Hornminster Glen"!

Not moaning mate. Just having a discussion and i'm a fu*king idiot who walks these distances when he's had a few at the game and decides to walk home after getting the train to most grounds. Example, getting off the coach for a 3-1 away win at Bedford on the A406 outside Enfield's old ground and deciding...fuc* it, i can make it to Leyton on foot from here! Needless to say, i didn't and had to find a cab which in Enfield is THE most hardest thing i have ever had to do and get my mum to pay it coz i had no money left due to drinking. Or the time, i went to Durham last month with my pub for a football tournament. Went out and got hammered afterwards, thought... i know how to get back to my hotel in the sticks outside Durham from here and proceeded to walk 6 miles to the wrong town and ask for help to get back to Durham. My point is that now i have a good preception of how long distances are to walk!

Seriously, Aveley to Hornchurch is quite a long, hard walk and so is Ilford to Redbridge now you mention it. It cant be 3 miles. I know the area and i'm sure its longer than that. If it is, i'm not sure that there is a direct route that i know and that may be why i think its longer.

By the way, i was thinking about Cheshunt football club last night, not Ware. Ware is about an 90-120 minute walk for most people.

I'm just kidding Chalky. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

As for Redbridge, are you thinking of Redbridge the area? Cause I'm sure they play at Barkingside.
