The jist of what was said was

1) Opposition would be scouted and the training leading up to the game will be based on the scouting report

2) All last seasons players will/have been invited to meet Simon and will be invited to start pre season traing.

3) Simon wants to intregate the ressies, and youth teams more with the first team.

4) He has a list of targets he would like to sign.

5) Simons target is promotion

6) The players/management team and supporters will be more united then previous seasons

Very interested to read the above and some very interesting statements above.

I wasn't at the "meet the manager night" but from reading articles and comments things sound very promising.

IMHO the there has been to much of an "old boys" feel about the club, this appointment is a total change of direction with someone with no previous connections with the club which can only bring a positive and fresh outloook.

Key thing for me was the desire to intergrate the first with the youth/ressies. Despite various attempts other the years this has never been achieved either down to lack of facilities, cost or a misguided belief from certain managers that such a move wouldn't reap enough benefits. I don't agree with the latter and honestly beleive if the club was to pursue a decent youth/reserve poilcy it would reap the benefits after a couple of years at a fraction of the price of the wages the club has been forking out on dross before. Perhaps links with the army and the Windor v army 11 friendly game could alos be restored. Look up your Windsor history and you'll see plenty of Army players who made a huge impact.

Also a very positive statement on existing players, in the past various managers have over-looked existing talent often due to personality or historical reasons before bringing in their own playing staff, often at great cost. Hopefully the new boss can get start some healthy competition for places without pandering to ego's.

Having seen the teams in Windsors Division (Beconsfield SYCOB for example) Windsor should be more than capable of a top 6 finish at a canter.

Finally whats the problem with ANON posters? There is a cliqueness at Stag Meadow always has and always will be, im not saying that people set out to come across that way but to a newbie walking in to the clubhouse or standing behind the goal amidst all the swearing and agressive outbursts comes across as unpleasant and not the passion and love for the team that it genuinely is, there is no place for such on a message board. If you don't agree with someone's point take them to task, thats what boards are all about. Just a thought.

Lets hope the new boss can build up a decent squad at Stag Meadow and is given the appropriate amount of time to do so and that the club can get back to what it's traditionally done best.

Good cup runs and the twice annual kicking of Sl*ugh Towns ars*.

I disagree with the "cliqueness" quote. Paranoid people who join a queue rather than go to an empty counter next door always play the "cliqueness" card.

You should not worry about who's talking to who about what, it probably isn't you. The faces in the clubhouse and behind the goal evolve.

Pluck up the courage and say hello, or say sod it, no I'm comfortable and confident enough to sit over here and do my own thing. Whichever way, you won't be frowned upon.

As for the foul & abusive behind the goal, it won't ever stop. When people ask for it to be toned down, it gets toned down. If it annoys me too much on a particular day I move. If it annoys people who can do something about it, they should do something about it. It's friendly aggressive but most know where the line is drawn.

I agree that you shouldn't worry about hearsay, however Mr Wanderer think about how potential new supporters would percieve things. I agree that most know where that line is drawn, but beacause regulars are comfortable with it doesn't mean everybody else is.

Thats not just my opinion either people i've met in and around the town have brought up similar sentiments to. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/argue.gif" alt="" />

1, Why don't they ask for it to be toned down

2, If you don't like it there are other parts of the ground

3, There is no Clique behind the goal at all!! People of all ages and backgrounds stand side by side and support their local side. And new faces are always joining the ranks

4, The langauge isn't that bad apart from the over use of the C word ( no not chelsea )

if thats your opinion then you are entitled to it but there are few if any true windsor supporters who would say comments like that before windsor have even played a game this season.simon lane came across as a highly confident man who has high hopes of promotion and taking the club forward.unless he proves otherwise he has my support throughout his time at windsor.

Simon Lane is a top class manager that will lead Windsor to success. I wish him well and will be following the latest steps in his career with great interest. I look forward to the day when he becomes a full time manager, and if that is with the Royals then all well and good.

Anyone who doubts Mr Lane is clearly a sad loser with no friends and typically stinks of cat wee, has never had a girlfriend and has to pay for sex, lives with their mother, whom they secretly fancy, have to rub tuna on themselves to get the cat to like them (which makes you wonder how they got to smell of cat wee) and have to have a steak tied to their [****!!****] (by their mother) to get the dog to play with them, think that a good night out is two halves of shandy with no skool tomorrow and to be frank, could not find their backsides with both hands down the back of their trousers: In truth they have tried this but found willie instead and have been cleaning him in the bath as fast, hard and as often as they like, have sticky keyboards and believe that after downloading another 10 mb of porn from the net to tug up on there is nothing better to do than abuse their elders and betters. in short... sad F****** losers!

Why Matt?

Because Simon Lane came from Berko, where he beat a few others for the job and turned out 90% of the old boys before trouble beset that club, not IMHO of Mr Lane's making. He did take them up tothe play offs before the club was fined 7 points for illegal players not registered by the responsible person, allegedly, and that was not the manager.

Berko and all things Berko are hated by HHTFC and all who sail in her with the same passion as Luton it has to be said. So all Hemel people hate Mr Lane, who lives in Hemel and was closely linked with the Hemel Managers job for a while over two seasons before Mr Bateman got the job. HHTFC supports hated the thought of an ex Berko manager in charge... which is ironic because they have an ex Berko manager in charge...

Mr Lane has been for a few jobs elsewhere and so has no doubt butted against a few heads there as well. I can think of a few who would stone him as soon as look at him, but shake his hand and bid him well when face to face.

He has had a career as a footballer and manager, and like all careers, that is for the public record and individual interpretation. without crossing the lines of libel, slander and defamation of character.

He has had a career with various clubs like Chelsea and QPR and some club in Malta and has let that been known... If I was the guy that washed the players jock straps at Chelsea I'd associate myself with that club. Mr Lane has worked at those clubs in a coaching capacity, he may have been a nobody in the club, but I doubt it. So, professional jealousy.

Come on, no one writes their cv in a negative manner nor says to the press "I'm not very good..."

Maybe people just plain don't like him? In the same way that one man's 4-3-3 is another man's 4-5-1, one man's confidence is another man's arrogance.

The main point is the people who are slagging him off now will still be doing so (in the unlikely event) when Mr Lane is managing the Earth team in the Universe Cup or the local cub scout under sixes team in Hemel... probably the self same people.

WEFC Board like him and they went through a long, intense selection process, which I believe was akin to any other job interview for a professional position: Slate Mr Lane and you slate the club not only at its football management level, but at the Club management level. I find it highly unlikely that even the dimmest of WEFC supporters would bite the hand that throws the corn.

Why Matt? Not why, but Whom? I doubt it is Royalists, not yet anyway... when you have ten points at Christmas that may be different, when you've won the league with five games to go, detractors??? Where, oh yes there they still all are, having a pop because of one of the above reasons...

He'll do right by ya!

i would really question why berkhempsted fans care about what simon lane is doing now.hes at windsor now and from the first impressions that were created lasty week he looks like he wants to take this club forward.

you still didnt answer my question because a few berkhempsted fans who type as anonymous are not connected with windsor and have no real right to slag someone of without putting their name by it.

i would question why people form outside of windsor who have nothing to do with the club would come on to the message board and try to incite trouble.i would think that simon cares very little about the comments of some random people who are willing to slag him off but not put a name by their comments.

maybe the sad berkhempstead fans should get on with their lives and look forward to next season without caring about what other clubs who have nothing to do with them are doing.
