sadly due to work and holidays first match will be Billericay 5th Aug. I'll do some away's and a pint would be great. For the record in my brief

history of hornchurch games mine would be Gravesend in the FAC 2 seasons ago? (Caskey)

that was quite a match.

i think most people on here would say the fa cup matches against darlington and tranmere were fantastic matches due to the national interest and the romance of the cup.

most would also point to the fa trophy match away at arlesley town, when the youth team led by jon lawrence came away 1-0 winners in an incredibly emotional match.

sadly, i wasn't at any of those matches. i think the games that stick out for me are the ordinary matches.

beating cloughie. 2-2 home draw against carshalton, the doog equalising in injury time. absolutely murdering burnham ramblers and lobbing the midget. losing penalty shootout in the freezing cold against hendon (?) at about 10.30 in the evening. the conga in the snow away at grays...

but the greatest match you're probably after would be the tranmere game. apparently, a certain mr. crick may have disallowed a vinnie john goal. not that anyone ever mentions the ref...

Losing to Boston away in the FA Cup... with a team that had probably been put together at the service station on the way and still giving a league outfit a fright.... for a while at least.

Oh, and a famous sweaty cuddle from Jean Michel-Sigere!!

That's one of my all time top memories

Very difficult one, Boston was fantastic for the sheer noise we made with a team put together at such short notice.

Wivenhoe away when some of the players joined the fans behind the goal to cheer us on.

BUT my favourite has to be.....Gravesend, I nearly wept when that Caskey goal went in.

Only so I'm able to infiltrate their AGM. Did I mantion I was the right back that scored that famous night. I think it is sometimes used on the opening credits of the FA match of the Day, bit like the Ronnie Radford goal
