Same old storey.....

There seemed to be a "common factor" with the second half performances against Enfield and on Saturday against Witham....

That being the introduction of Dean Nyman.

In both games he has introduced pace and a positive attitude to attacking play.

Why o why is he not in the staring line up ?

As for Saturday.. the defencive display was poor at best with little "teamwork" between the back line.

Jim keeps changing it around, but by now he should know the best line up and the best formation for particular games.

Why play a "left back" in midfield ? and have no cover at left back ? Poor option.

Constant change is not working.

No cover at Left back??? Isn't Magona a left-back???

The trouble with the centreback positions is that Tickner and Gant are not the quickest, and we can get exposed with long balls over the top (especially when we play a high line).Stephens will turn out to be an excellent centre back. His perfomances in that position during the friendlies convinced me of that.Patrick would be a reat partner for Stephens, with his pace and height(when fit).Campbell and Bastian are natural choices for the full back positions.

Midfield: New boys Black and Hunt are not perfoming at present and as such i would not start them.I would personally go for Smith,Velandia,Mackey(when available),Nyman.

So was Butler, Negus, Woody and countless others, ....but ( in my view ) Magona ain't.

Surely Bastian was brought in to play left back / defender - not midfield ?

We should play a formation that allows him to use his "attacking flair" just like PC does on the right.

I have to say I do agree with Chopper there. A good away win. Now we need to get our home form sorted, win the league and then get back on our march towards the Premiership and the European Champions League. Before that there is the littel biz of an away league cup match against the planks!

Old Towner I Could not agree more, I posted exactly the same on another thread, glad I'm not the only one who see's the performances as being disjointed due to constant tinkering & poor team selection.
