Aveley boycott

A number of town fans incensed at the letter published in The NLP are saying tonight they plan to boycott Aveley on the basis they don't see why they should be ripped off for high entrance fees (in excess of £9). Town fans dont mind high gate fees provided they are consistently applied to all clubs but victimisation of Town, AFC Hornchurch and a few others if true is a bit of a poor show.

 

Then you have the laugh a minute bar staff.

 

Should we go or not? Will they tell us before the match what the gate fee will be (and stick to it) and whether that will include the price of a programme?

i know a way in to the ground without paying,think you should go but use this method,otherwise get all your fans in the bar before the game and refuse to go in unless they put the price down to at least £7

If the admission price is £9.How about every town fan offering to pay £7 to get it at the gate.Otherwise we'll just watch the game from the carpark behind the goal.

 

 

Whatever we decide to do (if anything).It should be unmanamous and the stratergy must agreed between ourselves before we travel on Saturday.

The Strategy should be.....
Pay £8 on the gate which will include a match day programme.
That is exactly what the Aveley web site states.

I think you'll that they conveniently run out of programmes if you take more than 50 over there!

I don't see how you can grumble at £8 including a programme - provided that the prog is not just a folded bit of photocopied A4, and you actually get one.

 

However I suppose it is nice to have the option. Some people may not want a prog.

this is the ryman 1 north,people watch non league football for a few reasons,the two main ones are they have an affection with a local club and another which is becoming more popular is they are being priced out of league football(inc prem)

Aveley is a small town and of the people i know who live there probably just as many watch hornchurch as watch aveley and at £8-9 per game it is not surprising,the rest probably can't afford to go over there at those prices,so i can't really understand what their board are upto!
