Thanks for that blueblood. Can`t find an official fixture post, another site still says Tuesday. Training tomorrow so might get an idea then. Reserves played well last night and worth the 2 goals, not to mention the several "curt" chances that were missed. Think I`ll stick to U18s and reserves in future, £2 and you get a seat too. Good Luck to all for the weekend.

Good evening all,

Great game. Had the same expectation as against Dover, thought Canterbury would give the side a challenge. First 15 to 20 minutes it was quite even and Margate took a little time to find their way. A couple of half chances came for the Gate and one chance for Canterbury, well snuffed out by Matt in goal, other than that he had little to do but for a few regulation saves and dealt with Canterbury corners with confidence. A great performance from the backs kept Matt safe, Lewis had a great game, with Andrew and Nick also on form little got through all game. not quite sure of the times as I was engrossed in the game but about the half hour Kyle was sent through, his angled run put him in a good shooting position, one nil. Canterbury put a couple of attacks together. Then with five to go Johnny put Jim in for a left footer, 2 - 0 and the game was won. Second half and for the first 10 minutes the ball was in Canterbury`s half and it was then that Number 10, Jim took on defender and keeper ball all over the place but it ended in the net for 3 nil. The rest of the team lifted their game and with some fine moves as Canterbury folded. A rear moment as Nick spotted Jim making a run and sent the ball 50 mtrs, Jim beat the defender and curld the ball into the net for his hat-trick. A simular moment came for Kyle as he took on a defender to drive home for five. There were several near misses from Woody, nice boots, who came on in the last 15, Paul and Elliot who once again gave 100%. Paul too put in the work out wide and sent in several good crosses, it would have been nice to see one of these converted. Aulty (sorry not sure of spelling) also put 2 fine crosses in.

I have`nt really done justice to the team as everyone played well and it was a game to watch rather than try to make mental notes. Manager Tom must be credited for turning the team into a footballing side. The other side just won 3-2 against this team last week and some turned up to watch, 5-0 says it all and a clean sheet. Second at the mo but played more games. FA Youth Cup Wednesday 7.45.I think this team has more to come and another month or so should see something special. Well played.

Thanks a lot Blueblood that was a good read. Well done to the youth teams who are doing very well. Keep it up. The U14s who have won one and lost one I'm sure if they keep at it they will see success as they appear to have a good setup. Unlucky on Sunday with the 5-4 defeat.

On the subject of the reserves I hope that we will see more info on them on the website soon. Actually why not have info on as many of the youth teams as possible on the website? Certainly would be interested to follow their progress via line ups, scorers, reports.

Agree there, too many great youth games go unreported. They are the future and it`s been my experience that there is always a player who gets overlooked by the scouting net and comes good locally. These lads give their all for the club and a few lines in the main body would show that they are part of a Club with a great history and (fingers crossed) great future. Looking forward to Wednesday, East Grinstead seem up for the game.

Regards to all

This is all great stuff! - some of the younsters also get onto the forum .It can only be good that we acknowledge their contribution each week and demonstrate what a tremendous Club that they are associated with.

It's that "I want to put on the shirt and play" culture now that will mean these lads are the players and supporters of the Gate in the future.

A thousand blessings to them all!

Abdullah the Gate!

It would be good if the managers/players let everyone know how well the GATE is doing. One result is u/16's in the youth league. GATE 14 PARK FARM 0. This is 2 wins out of 2 and Shane O'connor who is the manager/trainer I know well has done brilliant as the team struggled badly last year. Previous week beat local rivals Monkton 5-0.

UP THE GATE.

Well done again, the U16's.

Looks like we are relying on 'supporters' /friends/family reports, but very much appreciated .

Appreciating the club is part-time and people have other priorities,, but hopefully a mechanism can be found for the club to officially post results/fixtures/reports on the reserves and youth; especially as 12 months ago, the club did 'make room for a separate page on oficial site for these specific teams.

Hope the U18's get a deserved crowd of 70 plus (and the drum?) for the FA Youth Cup game tomorrow, and get a win

Up the 'Gate

Contact the Webmaster(Nikki) was made a couple of weeks back asking for a "special" spot on the official site(links etc) & he replied that he was hoping to get something sorted for the reserves etc.Am sure he is doing his best or will be in trying to get this sorted.Maybe another reminder & further request on here wouldnt go amiss.Maybe a few more e.mails to him by others requesting the same would help too.
