At least Clarkey knows what ETFC is all about & why it was formed, not like some of the players we have at the moment!!!

We, the fans, are the club we hire the footballers to play football.

 

We would like them to also be fans of the club; but if they are the best available we want them to play for us no matter what their feelings about the origin and make up of the club are.

I think you miss my point Steph. Certain players need to have it explained to them how & why "OUR" Club was formed, & how it is run & that there is no "BIG MONEY MAN" in control.

I disagree Mr Happy.

 

We do not own our players heart and soul. We ask them to play for us and play at their best - every game. This does not meant that they have to accept the ethos of a supporter's owned club, if it did we may find that the pool of players we can select from dwindles.

 

Obvioulsy it would be better that they support the ethos of the club but it is not absolutely necessary.

 

To take an example - I understand that Barcelona is owned by its fans but do the highly paid players at the Nous Camp are really interested in that fact or do they play for the money.

 

"The fans of FC Barcelona are known as culers (or culés). In September 2006, the number of socis (club members) reached 151,127"

You cannot compare our level to that of any profesisonal club (except Barnet Tee Hee!). I accept that players do come and go for monetary reasons but we should always do our best to make players realise what this club means to us and try and get them to at least understand this and even better to really get involved. Many players love playing for Town because of who we are and some who have left were gutted to leave what is a special club.

We may be a Supporters' owned club, but do you know how many people there are who are actually members of the controlling body, ie. the Society?

Oh well we'll get him straight back in then shall we . After all he knows just what its all about . As I said the other day WE AS A Club need to move forwards NOT BACKWARDS !

I'm not a member myself as I dont come in that regular ,I Work most saturdays .Last time I looked it was 90 odd I think it was 300 to start with .

You lot really don't get it do you? I did not say that I wanted Daniel Clarke back at the Town or any other Ex Town Player, the point I was trying to make is that certain people are saying that the Team Selection is down to our "MR BIG" Well we don't have one do we. We all have equal shares, well Members do, & as far as non members go, well that is their choice, no one is saying you MUST Join the Society, but if you choose not to and miss out on your Voting Rights you can't moan can you.

I'm not a member myself as I dont come in that regular ,I Work most saturdays .Last time I looked it was 90 odd I think it was 300 to start with .

 

I can only get to 2 or 3 games a season but I would not dream of giving up my membership and part ownership of my home town club.

 

No, it's not compulsory - but go on, join up! You know you want to!

Err no .I don't think the man on the terrace has a voice ,He may have a vote but thats not a voice. Its the same old people that were in boardroom positions at southbury road,except for the scouser . Its the Inner circle that call the shots here not the person on the terrace. I only watch ETFC because of the location .I don't wish to be or have any interest to be a so called Co Owner .I'm just going to pay the £7 on the entry and thats it.
