Waltham Forest 2 Towners 0

Our poor finishing let us down. At one down we won a pen only for Deano to blaze it over the bar. Why oh why was someone who had only just come on and, as such, was not fully warmed up allowed to take the pen I will never know. Campbell was poor and should have scored with a header but his effort was awful (practice needed there methinks). We dominated possession in the first half but failed to create ehough chances. Second half was similar and the lively Kojo nearly scored soon after cming on. They killed off the game with an excellent strike late on. I think their keeper won the battel against some of our more lively fans but did get booked for his trouble. We don't need to throw that much abuse at an opponent keeper! We should have won against a pretty poor side but three points dropped and with the other results today this has been a very disspointing Saturday.

Final point. Enfield Paul was absent today yet we lost!!! Is he losing his tag of jinx!!!!!?????

Genuine question, why did Crace not take the pen?

We played fairly well but the finishing was poor, Hammett missed a sitter in the first half & I dont think their keeper had a real save to make all game.

Three at the back again, left us vunerable on more than one occasion, they hit the post after a break from our own free kick in the first half & their first goal came after a poor corner where they again broke away.

Hunt again was poor & I would have put Smudger on for him after an hour, Deano on for Campbell (who had a rare stinker of a game) was a good call but again too late, Crace had an unusually quiet game & I thought Disco & Tickner were again solid.

Overall disapointing but we have played a lot worse this season.

Hi.Long time supporter. Havn't been to many games this season. But was at Waltham Forest today, and let me say that the ref was a complete health and safty hazzard. He failed to protect players from countless late ,high and dangerous challenges. He let mass brawls, and violent conduct go unpunished (example-Town player finds himself on the floor near the ball with two players kicking at him.Any sensible ref would see the situation would explode and blow-up,but todays ref saw fit to stand back and watch it kick-off.Which resulted in Forests No5 taking a good run up and lauching a kick at the grounded Dave Hunt. This resulted in a mass brawl.Of which the Forest keeper was the star, having made 40 yards in order to swing a few righthanders.Even though the ref was two feet away whilst all this was going on,he laughingly consulted BOTH linesman(who were both miles away from the incident) and then gave a DROP BALL.

After that Town were afraid to settle or put their foot on the ball,as a clattering late challenge or off-the-ball dig was inevitable (all going willfully unpunished or unseen by the official). The ref gave Waltham.F the green light to play strong arm intimdating sunday park football tactics, and to be fair they exploited it to its fullest.Putting in a 'reducer' on a Town player and then hitting long counter attacking diagonal balls to their quick fowards. They exploited the refs weakness to perfection.

A mention to Crace,Hammett,Ofori who all missed simple chances today, and to Nyman for one of the worst penalites ever seen by a town player.

Summed the game up nicely. How did Adam Gant get his crippling injury I didn't see it. But it felt like let's take the Centre Back out to give Danny some room to play with and it seemed to work.

Danny has played Town twice this season and is an awesome talent, wish he was playing for us! Great goals Danny but do wish you'd stop doing it to town though!

We did not start on the keeper until he decided to needlessly join in the handbags! The town fans troubled the WFFC keeper more than our strikers which says it all really!

One or two half chances! The first was a 'gilt edged chance' with an open goal infront of Bryan Hammatt! How much more of a chance did he need?

When Bryan gets the odd goal he's an Instant hero with the managment ,All too often he misses good chances when we know other strikers we have would convert them . It makes you wonder how many more points are to be thrown away.

Congratulations Andy! Wondered who the first poster would be to say that it was all Bryan's fault.

Which is the worst sin then, to fail to connect with a swirling cross or fail to hit the target with a stationary ball from twelve yerds?

After 10 minutes Crace beat the off-side trap and run through on goal.He scuffed the shot low past the keepers right hand post.

Hammett missed header from 8 yards in front of an open goal, after Negus had run clear, committed the keeper and crossed the ball.

Ofori missed a chance where he got to the ball first as the keeper run out to the edge of the box to shut him down.He lobbed the keeper but put the ball wide of the right hand post.

Waltham Forest turned up for the game and, in the second half, Town didn't. I also thought the ref was poor but it frightens me what fast fowards with a game plan can do.

The forest defence was very poor and we did not take our chances. In the second half and towards the end of the first half Forest were the better side.

I also thought that the ref let a lot of off the ball stuff (and some on the ball stuff go) but again Forest were professional retreating slowly from free kicks and winding up town. How the hell the number ten stayed on the pitch when he is visibly arguing with the ref and wagging his finger at him.

Another thing - Paul Campbell didn't play that badly in the first half its just that the midfield appeared to ignore him. The Forest defence consistently drifted over to their right leaving acres of space for Paul to run into but did he receive the ball no.

There was one time when Paul did not think about what he was doing. Valendia was taking a throw on the Town right with Paul walking towards him suggesting that he should take the throw. As it was Valendia either did not notice or ignored him and threw the ball inside. Paul stopped when he should have made the overlap and given the midfield an extra player on the right. Why did he stop? Just who is coaching these players and is not telling them to think and look on the pitch where their players are and not just the ones next to them.

Well Bryan should know he is very good at missing from 12 yards
