Blues vs Ashford match updates on Saturday!

I was just wondering whether anyone would be able to post score updates for saturdays match on the forum! As I'm unable to travel up to the match myself and I like to able to still be aware of how the gate are doing!

I wish there was anyway that live commentary could be set up on the website for away games!

I cant make the game on Saturday but will be home for kick-off so Robert(blueswithsoul) will be keeping me up to scratch with whats going on down there so I will pass on anything I get from him to the forum. Of course this dosent prevent others putting their updates on here too should they be in contact with someone they know. The more the merrier I reckon.

Weather permitting of course. The Ground is right next to Heathrow Airport so I've been told so news of flights going out or not going out from Heathrow on Saturday might be a pointer to the conditions down at Ashford.

Sure you were not checking out weather forecasts whilst on the 8.03 Victoria to Ramsgate train tonight???

You did not bother checking tickets but sure that was you making the announcements

Well Hello young man.(Well,it is Christmas).
Indeed it was I on that particular service last night.Sorry, couldn't check tickets as machine had packed in.(Probably overworked it on the previous journey).
Just feel honoured that you had the number one guard on your train home & that you were in safe hands. You should have come up to me & said hello!.
No,no weather check last night.

I don't know much about this sort of thing but other clubs offer an SMS service. I just wonder if it would be possible for us to do the same. I cannot make a lot of matches due to work but,at a reasonable price, would subscribe to the service. I assume all you need is a mobile with all addresses of subscribers and you can send the update. (Probably more complicated than that). an ideal person to send them would be spmeone like Wellsie who appears to be at most games home and away. Is it worth looking into?

Hi MS. My focus at both home and away games is our audio commentary services - live commentary from all home games and recorded commentary from those away gaes that I can get to. With that in mind, I am not able to do the text stuff as well. Having said that I'm sure it would be a well received service for those unable to keep up to date at away games. As well as the usual updates on this forum (courtesy of Cookie etc) I will also be hosting a "Gate Chat" special during tomorrow's game. JJ is "my man" at the ground and as well as updates we'll also have a couple of interviews and some music from our featured artists. More news on this later this evening.

Thanks Wellsie, my apologies I wasn't actually putting you up for it, I know you have your hands full. But it could fall to one of the regulars. Lets face it we have a makeshift service already, its very rare that we don't get someone updating us. I am working again tomorrow (nights) so will be listening in. It really is a good service and its obvious to me that you have got better with the commentating over the last few months. Not so many pregnant pauses!! Anyway there is not many clubs who can boast the sort of coverage of matches that we get not even in the conference. Keep up the good work, everyone.

Thanks for the feedback MS, I appreciate it. I didn't take an inference that you were putting me up for it, so no worries there. I do agree though that a SMS service would be a good addition to our services.

Latest weather from the BBC for tomorrow...

Ashford (Middx) 5°C - Misty - Very Poor visibility.

Not looking that great - methinks I shall be calling Ashford before I leave!

Have just phoned Ashford - the fog is still bad there and they told me a decision 'should' be made quite early tomorrow as to whether the game will go ahead or not! I shall definitely be giving them a ring before setting off!!

No worries - I will obviously be coming the other way (down the M40) - fog is still bad here too and I generally will only make a journey if safe to do so. Cross fingers that it lifts a bit tonight/tomorrow morning and that the game goes ahead - will be a downer if not!
