From the site...

St Albans City have announced that manager Ritchie Hanlon has parted company with the club. Chairman John Gibson said "I feel sorry for Ritchie as luck hasn't gone his way with regard to injuries but this is a results business. We hoped that results would improve after the positive displays in the Bishops Stortford and Lewes games but unfortunately this was not the case and we have had no choice but to part company."

Senior members of the squad will take training sessions and further statements from the club including the announcement of a successor for Ritchie will be issued in due course.

They are not true...

Alan has a wife and kids, is happily married and it was his twin brother in that layby....that night.

You're getting confused with Dean Ashton and Matthew Upson. grin

This was just a jokey comment on last night's Non League Show. They featured the St Albans City situation in some depth.

I think the chairman's been a little too hasty. Hanlon should have been given the cup game and the Welling United home game to turn things around. I know the team have conceeded 8 goals in two games but with ten men for the majority of both games it's hardly a surprise!

Good luck to Ritchie and good luck to whoever steps into the hot seat.

Well in the league its 1 point from 12 with 12 conceded in the four games which is shocking considering that Ricay had the tightest defence in the league last season

Its mostly down to the loss of our only defensive midfielder Matt Game which sees so theirs a lack of someone putting their foot on the ball in midfield putting more pressure on to the defence who seem unable to cope

Also having lost to players to football league clubs since the start of last season Nathan Elder to Brighton in January and Chris Whelpdale to Peterborough in the summer Ricay were always liable to struggle

Hopefully if Ricay beat third bottom RPL bottom club Maidstone in the FAC then hopefully a quality dmc may become available and everything will be fine but if Ricay lose then I think he may well be in trouble if the next couple of games after that end in poor performances
