Draw probably a fair result but we only salvaged it with a swinger from Dan Rumens in the final minute. So a 17th place finish shows pretty much where this group of players are - and would have been 18th without that last minute goal. Nice cameo from Tayshan Hayden-Smith - but for them not us. The good points of the season..Adding a great keeper into the squad.Having a good run in the cup.Being the last side in the league to maintain an unbeaten home record.The ability to score goals near the end of the 90 minutes. Bad points..Being top 8 in the league for both Attendances and Wage bill but finishing 17th.(Athough having to create a squad from scratch is a mitigating factor -this season) .Poor tuesday night away record.Inconsistent performances right up until the end of the season.Being outplayed at home on occasion by bottom half teams. andyetfc Posted April 30, 2018 Share Posted April 30, 2018 Yes it has been disappointing. I do worry if LS's comment is correct that we have a wage bill of a top 8 team yet we finished 17th. There was a comment made after the AGM that some board members had loaned the club some money to meet the budget. I do hope they have not had to do this again.
