Tend to agree, but Jimmy Logie must have been a bit special too.

Bentley was one of the best, although he only played 30 or so games. He's one of the few ex-players to play league football too.

Those who were privileged enough to see Portway play during THOSE two seasons will know that he was one in a lifetime. His goalscoring record will no doubt stand for decades to come, and is a testament to his goalscoring ability.

Legend , thirty goals before Christmas one season , but then the inspired board sold him and got Richard Newbery - well , all Portway ever did was score goals !!

Bobby Constable was the worst.
He made Sam Sodge seem like Gary Liniker.
Truly the diriest player ever to wear the red and white.

Bugger the past. Who will be the best fleet player next season.... this year Chris Moore was an easy choice but next season I reckon the glory will go to the forwards with Drury, Essendoh and Omyinmi all in with a shout.

I was once told that Micky 'Terra' Cotter lived in Leicester during his time at the club. To travel down from there week in, week out shows fantastic commitment.

But in my 11 years of watching the Fleet, I'd have to go for Portway. Having said that, I'm surprised no-one's mentioned Jacko yet (he would be my second choice).

And he's top of his class in English. Imagine what the others are like... they can only write essays if they've got predictive text input.
