Quite, but what I was simply refering to was UK football as a whole, and not to cloud his/her education with names of teams and divisions which in likely terms wouldn't mean diddly squat to them. To an americian beginner, the term british football league simply offers a reference to UK football-fullstop. Any better now?

yes but scottish football and english football are two different things entirely and welsh & ireland are completely different again

Welsh football league is basically part time, there are 3 proffesional clubs but these play in the Englsih football league.

Scottish football is full time in the premier league and the majority of their league 1,after that it is part time.

The english league is proffesional in all four divisions,ie the prem,championship,1 & 2 and many of the conference sides and a few conf south & north sides.

The league in Northern ireland is basic, although getting better but only has a few full time players
