Changes Next Season?

Recommended Posts

I have been looking at another's website.

He has suggested the following.

Bedfont Green, North Greenford and Wembley to move to Spartan/South Midlands League.

Horley to Sussex league.

Reading Town to Hellenic.

The CCL would receive Redhill(Sussex), Alton Town(Wessex) and Badshot Lea(Hellenic).

(Not sure how the Horley/Redhill thing was worked out)!!!

That would mean 20 teams in Premier.

Is that the plan for the CCL (ie 20 teams)?

Is so, would there be no relegation!

Also hearing that Bisley Sports may join CCL.

Which clubs in Div 1 ACTUALLY have the grading in place to promote???

I have a really important meeting tonight before our under 18 game at Raynes Park Vale so I would appreciate some factual advice please!

You could email me?

Chris,

No facts just rumour.

Heard that Badshot Lea were swapping with Reading Town at the end of the season.

The FA want 12 Step 5 leagues with 20 teams in them so there is an element of truth there.

In Div 1 I think Hartley Wintney may well be in a position to be promoted if they finish in the top 3. Not sure about the rest.

I heard that Badshot Lea had applied to the CCL but this had been refered to the FA Leagues committee. Think Croydon want to come over from the Kent league too.

Not sure as too who can come up but they need the work finished by 31st March.

Not heard of any major restructuring that you've posted their Chris, or that the league is to reduce to 20 teams but that may be something from the FA again that is forced on the CCL

Thats news to me! But I'm a bit out of the loop nowadays. All I know is that we enjoyed our first season in the Kent League, although slightly frustrated by the shortage of games, and were quite happy to stay there. There's about 4 long-ish journeys, but otherwise, everything else is reasonably local to Croydon.

Maybe the thinking has changed a bit this year. I shall ask some questions tonight!

From a purely selfish point of view, I'd be very happy for us to come over to the CoCo. Certainly a bit easier on the travelling from Wiltshire!

Although neighbouring counties, travelling between Kent and Essex is not particularly easy, especially if there's any problems with the Dartford Crossing!

More likely that Kent will merge with Sussex, and Essex will merge with whatever's just above them. If Kent were to merge with Sussex, then might be a reason for us wanting to come over to the CoCo

Sussex don't want to merge with anyone.

Essex and Ridgeons makes more sense.

That might leave the Kent League with 16 teams next year.

I am betting 50p that nobody is relegated from Ryman to CCL btw!!! wink

Reading Town have been happy to go into the Hellenic for the last three seasons. Badshot Lea thought they would go into CoCo upon gaining promotion but I believe Hellenic wouldn't let them leave unless Reading Town joined, but CoCo didn't want Reading Town to go or accept Badshot - one of the two

I am on the understanding that Hartley are having their seats put in in the next few weeks.

Could be less than 16! Currently 17.

We could lose one through VCD / Thamesmead / Hythe being promoted.

Holmesdale were only elected this year on the basis of having floodlights being installed by the end of the season - that hasn't happened yet!

Slade Green have provisionally resigned, pending a saviour!

Greenwich were rumoured to be in big trouble, although the Vase run looks like it might save them, provide dthe money actually reaches their account (there's some strange going-on down there!)

Persistent rumours about Sporting Bengal joining Essex or Spartan.

The rumour I've heard is that the Cherry Reds CCL is to be renamed The Cherry Reds Elastic League !
