Missing: 1,500 Shots fans

Recommended Posts

Kent Police have issued the following statement.

"We're putting this appeal out to anyone who may have seen a large number of people walking around the North Kent area looking for a football ground. They're thought to be Aldershot fans looking for the ground of Ebbsfleet United where their team was due to play.

The expected number of fans failed to turn up. We had expected about 2,500 to turn up but in reality only 1,000, so we're now confused as to what happened to the other 1,500.

Many of them will be carrying flags, also didn't turn up and maybe a drum although a drum was heard at the ground. Something that may help you to confirm a sighting is that many of them will have six, seven or maybe eight fingers on each hand.

We thank you for you help in this matter."

The main reason they couldn't find the ground was because they were looking for a place called Ebbsfleet..... which of course does not exist !

So who on earth would re-name a famous old non-league club, originally named strangely after the two towns it represents.....er ... our Board!

With a name that is no more "real" than "Narnia" or perhaps "Far awayland" from Shrek. In fact the latter two names would have been better known and probably more appropriate, bearing in mind the cartoon characters involved in running the club recently LOL

One of those will be mine, lovingly kept from the Aston Villa game. But whilst waving it with pride, it won't be in protest. I have also ordered an Ebbsfleet flag & my first ever replica shirt.

We are an incomparably better side than the one that ran out at Villa park. The progress we have made on the pitch over the last 6 years or so has been enormous & we are still the Fleet, whatever we're officially called.

Very much doubt it Harry j biggest game in webbsfeets history on a saturday 3pm kick off day out at wembley for the winner.A journey of just over an hour and you bring 800-900 hundred .And how many will you have at wembley. One thing you cant say about us is that we have a glory boy following . The 1000 or so shots there last night true 100% loyal fans home and away.Be careful Harry j envy can be an ugly thing.
