A PLEA TO THE F.A.

Smudge

Recommended Posts

With the current weather creating havoc throughout the Country, which is breaking all known records since records began. It would be nice to think that the Football Association, are not unaware of the disruption being caused at the Non League level,as far as fixtures were concerned.David Cameron said Money was  no object in getting the Country back on its feet.So please could the F.A. become part of the BIG SOCIETY,and show some RESPECT,by doing a very small thing,in the wider picture. That being extending the current 13/14 season by 1 month,so as to allow the grassroot Clubs,to complete outstanding fixtures, that have built up,in an orderly manner. Thanks in advance.

And all the contracted players will be out of contract!

only if the blue form has changed - pretty sure it says (or used to say) a fixed date or when the club's last competitive fixture has been completed

We are talking level 5-6 here, how many contract players in the Combined Counties, I would hope not too many.

I understand if you have a promising young player, not wanting bigger clubs whisking them away for nothing.

Never mind players, some clubs' pitches just aren't available after a certain date. Some clubs share with cricket clubs; some have to hand management over to the owning council after a certain date for summer maintainence. Some clubs have contracts in place with contractors to work on their pitch over the summer, whether that be simple re-seeding work or digging the whole thing up and replacing it with a 3G pitch!

The above comments just go to show why nothing will ever change in Non League, the reason being everyone is only concerned about their Club.Camberley got a decent pitch,Whyteleafe installing a 3g in the summer, and if Chertsey have contracted players, that takes the biscuit.Thats why the F.A.do nothing for grassrooots, because they no that all Clubs are nimbys.United we WIN,DIVIDED WE FAIL.

Assuming that the Registration Secretary has done her job properly, which I'm sure she has, and clubs have completed their registration forms correctly, we currently have just two contract players registered with the League.

The world is not as simple as Smudge would have it. And if anyone points to reasons for Smudge's magic wand not working, then they are nimbys. Try living in the real world.

Play four matches in four days?[/quoteI remember in the Ryman league one year after a major fixture backlog at least one team was expected to play two first team games on the same day.

I can't rember the name or names of the teams, but I am sure someone will know the teams

Slough Town were supposed to a few years ago.  If they won the first match they would have to play the second and win to avoid relegation.  As it happened they lost the first game so didnt have to bother with the second.
