The mileage is certainly going to be higher. Was looking forward to a game just 5 minutes down the road, I’m sure Bracknell will be amongst the top lot again next season though. 12 minutes ago, Rebellier said: Big miles next season... Be interesting to see if we bring back Rhys or a new goalkeeper. Then again would Rhys want to come back after his successful season at Ascot? 23 minutes ago, Nathan said: Aveley promoted from Isthmian League, beating Hornchurch. 2 clubs I hoped wouldn’t be in the contention just because of the horrid journey! With players like Tyler Harvey in the side they'll always have a goal threat. Whether they do or don't survive will depend, like most clubs that are promoted, on what money is available to strengthen. They must have a Chairman or committee that have a few quid to spend so I wouldn't be surprised to see them do ok.
Holyport Rebel
I don't usually go to non-league matches that don't involve Slough, but I woke up this morning and quite fancied the short trip to Sandhurst to watch the Bracknell v Truro play off final. I went hoping I'd be repeating this journey over either the Xmas or New Year period for our festive derby game next season. I got into the ground fairly early , at 1.55, just in case they had a match programme for sale that wouldn't hopefully have already sold out. I needn't have bothered. No match programme. They had done one of those online editions, which for me are a waste of time. Still, I'd got in the ground early so had the choice of anywhere I'd like to stand to watch the game. I thought I'd pick the standing area between the two dug-outs. As close to the half way line as I could get. Very pleased with my choice, I waited for the clock to count down to kick off time. ( Bracknell, if you don't produce a proper match day programme it would help fans in the ground if your public address system worked, so we could at least be told the team line ups. It's not much to ask, is it ? ) I was still pleased with my viewing position right up until 2 minutes before kick off, when the 4th official came along and stood right in front of me. Thanks mate. Thankfully he wasn't a big bloke, and moved along the touchline a lot during the game so it wasn't too bad a situation. Truro had the better of the first half. A good header from their fancy dan centre forward hit the post after about 25 minutes, and the move continued with a cross from the right that an unmarked Truro player headed downwards and brought a good save from the Bracknell keeper. Then right at the end of the first half that same fancy dan Truro forward scored a great goal. A screamer. Second half Bracknell I thought started to get the upper hand. A Bracknell player was upended by a clumsy and obvious foul by Truro's number 7 inside the penalty area. Rightly a penalty was awarded. Standing so close to the dug-outs, it was easy to hear the Bracknell bench telling the ref and 4th official that the number 7 should be booked , and that would then be his second yellow card meaning he should be sent off. To be honest I hadn't noticed if the no. 7 had been booked earlier, but the way the number 7 stayed on the ground in apparent agony and the urgency with which the Truro bench substituted him before the penalty was taken, makes me think that Truro might have got away with one there. It was only a few minutes after Bracknell converted the penalty that Truro scored to take the lead once more. Bracknell came back into the game very strongly after this, and scored a great goal themselves to make it 2-2. An acrobatic over-head kick which went in off a post. Our old friend Ben Harris had come on as a sub for Bracknell by now, and with about 8 minutes to go he had a great chance to put them ahead. A deep cross from the left eluded everyone in the middle of the penalty area and fell to Ben on his own to the right hand side of the goal. He volleyed it over the bar. What a chance. I'm sure he wishes now that he had taken it down and hit it with more control and accuracy. Bracknell still seemed to me the team more likely to score as the 5 minutes of added time board came up. Then in the final added minute Truro had a break down the right, the ball fizzed across the area and Truro's number 3 and captain poked it in at the far post. Heartbreak for Bracknell. Very different Play off final emotions for Sean Fraser this time around. Two quite evenly matched teams produced a very enjoyable play off final match. Just would have been much more preferable if Bracknell had won. Mr Rebel, Bernie Gogan, Reading Rebel and 1 other

REBEL MATTERS
I am sure this has been mentioned before, but I genuinely don't know. With the National League having 4 relegation spots and two up from south and two up from north, how do they distribute (for better words) if 4 teams from the National league get relegated? You can't put 2 'south' teams in the 'north' league?

You can't put 2 'south' teams in the 'north' league? All the clubs at Step 2 are effectively put into a pot and then a north/south dividing line is drawn. It's entirely possible clubs from the NLS will be moved north. The clubs most at risk are probably Bishop's Stortford and Oxford City (if not promoted), maybe also Braintree. Maybe, he also works his socks of for them but for me they should struggle, don't get me wrong they have done amazing obtaining promotion, the top teams (8) in south prem there is no real difference to the bottom half of the conference south. Lot going against them even home games are over 1hr away for them. Bracknell should have put this game to bed and missed a great opportunity with minutes to spare in normal time at 2-2. Slim! George signed an extension with Bromley the day before he came on loan to us, so he has another year. Francis, there’s conversations to be had. He has another year on his deal with Aldershot but he needs to speak with them first to see where he’s at in their plans. If he was available come the summer, he might then want to remain full time somewhere, if he wanted to go part time again then I believe we would have a decent chance. Soon see. 👍🏼 GlenSTFC and Reading Rebel
