As it's still quiet here is an interesting team sheet for LondonEagle and Cruz, Bedford Town Reserves v Tottenham Hotspur Reserves in a Metropolitan League fixture on Saturday 24 August 1968, some familiar Tottenham names including a young Steve Perryman and Ron Henry who played in the 1961 and 1962 Cup Finals:

Lets get ready to rumble then for tomorrow's FA Cup and FA Vase draws which should be out around lunch time, watch this space for details of who Real Bedford will meet. At least we know that it won't be Bedford Town in the FA Cup Extra Preliminary Round as they are exempt until the Preliminary Round, any draw at McMullen Park will attract a big crowd on Saturday 5 August and Mr McCormack will ensure it will be a very special occasion for the Club.

Think it's first 2 rounds draws tomorrow so it could be Bedford Town v Real Bedford/their Extra Prelim Round opponents in the Prelim Round draw?

That's my understanding as well. Hoping we get the news tomorrow that a win sets up the local matchup. Home or away, it would be must see TV.

The full draws for the Extra Preliminary and Preliminary Rounds of the FA Cup and the First and Second Qualifying Rounds of the FA Vase. In the FA Vase Real Bedford are at home to Step 6 Rothwell Corinthians and then, should they win, at home again in the Second Qualifying Round to Risborough Rangers or Flackwell Heath which will be tough:

Anyway lets cross the FA Cup and FA Vase bridges when we come to them and concentrate on tomorrow afternoon's first pre-season friendly fixture with Rushden & Diamonds:

AFC Rushden & Diamonds have their own Fans Forum, I remembered it from a while back and thought they might have something about today's fixture at McMullen Park, the Club have some real die hard fans from when they were a Football League Club back in the day. What a win for Real Bedford against 'superior' opposition, Rob Sinclair must be over the moon unlike AFC Rushden & Diamonds supremo Chris Nunn who is clearly embarrassed by the 1-0 defeat:

Actonians v Real Bedford @2pm

Don't forget the Ladies friendly fixture tomorrow afternoon in London against Actonians Ladies. It would appear the fixtures are out already for the new season in the Eastern Region Women's League Premier Division, on Sunday 13 August Real Bedford Ladies entertain Stevenage and then travel to Creasey Park the following Sunday (20 August) to take on newly promoted AFC Dunstable who impressively won the Eastern Region Women's League Division One North last season:

I can't see Diamonds being one of the worst teams in their Step 4 league by any means, so the win for Real Bedford will definitely boost their optimism about another promotion next season, from SSML Prem into the Southern League.

For some reason I haven't been able to post since Saturday morning, there was no messege box, I wanted to notify that the Ladies fixture at Actonians Ladies yesterday had unfortunately been postponed. I see that, unlike with the First team, there will be a Ladies Reserve side this coming season, I'm not sure as yet what League they will be entered in, if any as initially they might just be playing friendly matches:

I was away and off the grid internet wise for the weekend so just caught up with the result on Radio Diamonds. Excellent radio feed from those guys and sounded like an attractive, attacking game on both sides. No injuries and some new guys getting plugged in. All you can hope for in the preseason. Excited to see what happens tomorrow!

A signing that needs no introduction to the Spartan. Huge add for the pirates.

Hopefully he's ready to replicate the same level of success a step above.

I note that Leighton Town have disappointingly cried off and pulled out of the pre-season friendly with Real Bedford at Bell Close on Saturday 15 July, Cranfield United have stepped into the breach and will host Rob Sinclair's men at Crawley Road on Friday 14 July

I've seen 'rumour' on another Forum that Friday's friendly at Cranfield United has been switched to McMullen Park, they are not often wrong so watch this space for confirmation:

Cranfield United v Real Bedford - Friday Cranfield United v Real Bedford game is at Real Bedford
