Eligible Club's are now cordially invited to apply for promotion, they are requested to submit details of their ground grading, security of tenure and finances by Monday 3 May:

Can see a number of clubs not meeting the criteria so then what happens, does it drop down to the next best and so on?

Any idea what the SSML Premier Division table looks like based on this and last season PPG?

GRS67 - Cue Karen, those are questions for her to answer, what makes you think Club's won't meet the criteria, they will all be confident of doing so and will have had plenty of time during the lockdown period to make the necessary improvements to their grounds although finances will have no doubt been tight.

There's a lot of interesting SSML discussion and speculation on another Forum with Patemondo putting in his twopennysworth, he's obviously hoping that Stotfold receive promotion to Step 5 and although it would be deserved, particularly with the new ground, I am not sure it is going to happen:

Speaking to Codicote Chairman at the Weekend... they are concerned that if offered promotion to Step 6 (which I believe they should be) is what League they go in. SSMFL Div1 going North, Eastern Counties and Combined Counties ??? Any one of the 3 for Codicote and potentially London Lions will see an increase in travelling...

I see that Step 6 League's are waiting with bated breath to hear from the FA about how many spaces they will each need to fill for next season, League's will consider Step 7 Club's who have applied for promotion this season or in 2019/20 and prioritise Club's with floodlights and Grade H grounds.

An interesting Sports Shots article highlighting Milton Keynes Irish and Winslow United's cordial invitations to apply for upward movement however Winslow United are a 'secondary consideration' as are Stotfold and both those Club's would need luck on their side to make promotion:

Further to the Step 7 elevations to Step 6, this is the process:

Can’t see Winslow in any position to go for promotion. Over a number of years they’ve consistently been up there and only a poor start to ‘this season’ has knocked them down, but with managers and players moving on I think it would suit them to stay in division one now.

I thought We were supposed to find out from the FA regarding their restructure on the 17th?

We're still waiting to hear from them and find out if we'll be moving to the Combined Counties League

I gather the announcement will be at 3.00pm now, typical FA.

We're coming home guys, the current Division One Cup holders make a return, been a long couple of years had feared we might be placed in the Combined Counties but glad we can renew our old friendships within the Spartan South Midlands.

Savagebee - I couldn't have put it better myself, Karen will have her work cut out in Division One out won't she. Anyway, welcome 'home' Cockfosters, Hadley, Holmer Green and Risborough Rangers.

SSML Chairman Pat Burns is currently speaking on Radio Verulam, I'm sure today's restructuring announcement will be discussed:

https://radioverulam.com/show/the-local-football-show/

On this week’s Local Football Show we have the highlights of Colney Heath’s semi final victory and hear from Spartan South Midlands Chairman Pat Burns.

We hear from Julius Ilori, the London Colney EJA Youth Coach and one of his players Danny Fowler.

Plus we catch up with local football legend Dave Brook, ahead of the forth coming Colney Cup, on which the new trophy will be named after him.

Sponsored by Romans Of St Albans Tuesday 7pm on 92.6FM Radio Verulam.
