There fans were right there gonna win the league, they were good from back to front having said that we were in it until Remi got himself in a right pickle to give away the pen,the other 2 goals high balls to the back post where alas our normal defensive pairing not available and it showed. We just having an unbelievable run where we can't get our  best 11 out, when we do we're different gravy.Take nothing away from Worthing good side, good support .Back to our boys well we will just have to roll up our sleeves and fight another day Up the Urchins

Just too strong for us - apparently they had a really good winger out as well. Pleased we scored and I kept thinking we had an outside chance until that 3rd goal went in but truth be told, they deserved the win and if they keep going like that they surely must be favourites for the title.

Their fans - good vocal support and really good bearing in mind it’s a midweek game as well. Having said that they had a few younger fans that maybe some of their other fans needs to speak to about their behaviour, just lucky they ran into a friendly club tonight. Don’t want that to detract from a good win for them though

Yep, concur with the above.
I was pleased with the way that Daniel Obi got their No 9 under control and also pleased with Charlie Stimson's goal, sharp reactions from a player that hasn't had many minutes thus far.
The injury plague continues though with Billy Bricknell limping off.
Penalty looked soft, I thought Remi was fouled on the bye-line and not really convinced that Remi made contact - but there you go.

Worthing now 8 points clear and won 11 out of last 12 games, that is phenomenal performance - and yet we still had a couple of chances to nick a point or three.
Still, onto the next game.

Are we just going to ignore the fact we persist in playing players out of position hoping we will click? Once again we've had more then enough time to get a centrehalf on duel reg to deputise for Hayles/Clarke but instead play Parcell. We've got a striker who looks like he will never score in Bricknell (not replaced Dicko) and we left our 2 most creative players on the bench bringing on Ruff with 6 mins to play. This season should have been about progressing, using that cup win to push on keep the core if the team and improve it using the cup money yet we've kept the same team struggling to field more then 4 subs and languish in mid table, midweek attendance going back down to pre cup win too as the floaters who we need to boost gates arent coming back.(ask yourself why)

Going up looks impossible currently, even with our injuries and suspensions we are still well short (as seen yesterday). Sorry to sound negative but this season has been awful overall.

Totally agree with KLF.

In the Chairman’s notes for the first home league of the season he stated “The squad we have now is strong, Mark is very loyal to the squads he assembles and evidence of that is that virtually all of the squad who gave us our day at Wembley have started the season. Mark hasn’t brought new players in at this stage, he knows that he can but only wants to bring players in who will not only improve the squad, but also fit into the squad dynamic”

I will leave you to come to your own conclusions as to whether a squad with no specialist defensive and central midfield cover could ever be considered as strong.

From previous posts the consensus seems to be that Jill has been the only non-loan signing who has improved the squad.

The best time to build your squad and team is when you are at the top, and I fear that complacency rather than ambition coupled with more injuries as usual has inevitably brought us to where we now are. A mid-table team.

Winning the FA Trophy was a once in a lifetime: event that we have sadly wasted. The only thing that I can hope for is that lessons have been learnt and we can turn this into a positive for next season.

I read that Jilli is off to Sheffield utd sometime soon

Or google search says that Nottingham Forest, Middlesbrough and Bournemouth are interested.

It does look like he will be leaving us in January and if so the best of luck to him.

Good luck to him although still very raw he has been the one of the very few highlights this season and has put in some decent performances and has a great delivery too. Hopefully we've tied him down to a contract so will get some sort of compensation for him.
