Shoring up the defence is more important than adding another striker surely? In an ideal world we could do both but we aren't on a goals for drought we are on goals against monsoon! I have faith Gav will sort things...I think.

And although I'm sure most positions could be strengthened (defense included), not conceding goals is so much more than 4 defenders and a keeper, it's about team set up, defensive shape across all 11 players, ball retention, decision making, work rate, discipline in following tactics etc.

Agreed with NBT though - Gavin seems to be very clear what he wants to do tactically, and hopefully where we need to strengthen. There will obviously be blips along the way (same with every team, possibly Hornchurch excepted), but we're still in a decent position and playing OK.

Shame Sam Higgins has signed for Canvey Island. Seems location, the fact he's mates with the Asst Manager and no doubt a fair amount of £££ sealed the deal. Will be interesting to see whether he can turn their fortunes around when he's finally fit and back playing.

I only ever knew the wage of one Town player,  and that was only because his contract was left unattended in the office!
