He was boss at Bowers when we first joined the league in 92, then managed Romford reserves. Got promoted to first team boss in 1998-9 (I think?) then followed 'he who should not be named' up the M11 to Bishop's Stortford in January 99, but his tenure was short-lived. I think he came back to run Basildon for a while, although I stand corrected and just wondered if he was still around the manor.

Nah, Romford home to London APSA. Should have a nearly a full strength squad back this week, so a repeat of our 8-1 win over them in the League Cup wouldn't go amiss, but hey, I am not greedy, three points will do. Burnham looked a good side last week and their pitch is in the best shape I have seen it for years. A wonder goal from our ex-striker Cyclops Portway done for us in the end, but it was all pretty even stuff.

Didn't notice him when we played them a few weeks back, I will look out at their place on Jan 3, weather permitting. Don't see much of Doyley now as I rarely frequent the Hendersons Club nowadays. Must pop up there soon as we always shows his face. Good lad and his bruv.

Don't know about Wheeler, he seems to have disappeared off the radar. I can tell you his asst at Romford, Gavin Axcell, is now the U16s manager at Billericay Town. Another former Romford mgr, Amin Levitt, is boss at Aveley.

lets get Peter & Steve Terry in the back four, lets get Tommy Lawrence in midfield, Alf D'arcy come on down, lets have Mario Walsh up front with Alan Hull, Big Les Clevelley in goal, oh and i know a personal favourite of mine on the wing, the one & only Lee Endersby!!

Naturally Super Kev would keep his place!!

How easily all you forget how valuable Clarkes goals were in relation to Enfield Town winning most of their trophies in the last 4 seasons.


Correction. His goals were valuable in our winning trophies in our first two seasons. Last season he was poor. He is a one dimensional player and has been found out by most other ESL defences. He also causes problems in the dressing room that will have a knock on effect on the pitch.

So, judging by the plethora of responses to the first posting, re his impending return to your club, the jury seems divided as to whether the Townies would like to see him back. Still, this story seems to have more validation than the one regarding Lee Smith's return to Romford, which I take with a pinch of Sodium Chloride.
