With a lack of left-sided players and Jon allegedly able to play either side it was a case of trying to balance the team on the day. I thought Jon had a very quiet game but was more than happy with the right side and I thought Spenny had his best game ever in a Windsor shirt - yes he made a mistake for the equaliser but there were plenty of players between him and the goal when it happened and his delivery from set-pieces was as good if not better than Lewington with the major difference being Spenny can run and defend!

How can people say same old when we've scored 2 goals in a league game for only the 3rd time this season and, but for Chippy's awful first-half miss, could have quite easily won the game?

DC's decision to go 3-3-4 near the end was a brave move and very nearly paid off but the luck goes against you when you're struggling. I spoke to a few of our supporters as they were leaving the ground yesterday and they, like me, were encouraged by the effort the players put in and the shape we played. A coupe of tweaks ie Edgerley on the left and a goalscorer would see us not far from a decent side - hopefully the left-side will be back to full strength for Saturday and moves are being made to secure that elusive goalscorer we've lacked all season.

Whilst there's a lot of hard work still to do, I'd rather be supporting a team in form at the end of the season than one in form at the start that suddenly runs out of form! This time of the year see teams having their budgets cut as hopes for a play-off place disappear and others will settle for a mid-table position thinking they're safe, now's the time to put a run together whilst others are sinking into the mire! <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/boxing.gif" alt="" />

It was same old same old. Some players still don't look intrested and no accuracy infront of goal. A penalty and own goal doesn't mean that the team is finally turning things around. True it may have been better than most other games this season but it is still not good enough. Most people have been tolerant for a while now but you can understand why people are starting to get pee-d off. Most of our supporters that I spoke to on Saturday looked and sounded deflated. No-one knows what the answer is only the club and manager can make that decision. On A positive note I thought Drake, Kersey and Wallace had a good game on Saturday and if Drake doesn't get player of the season there really must be something wrong.

it seems like the only people you won't admit how poor we actually are is the officials at the club.face it people ,relegation looms.

i agree with humpty.last season when dennis left i thought stay up and nothing much more.but i expected a lot more from this season.but it has been a downhill slide from the start.nothing is going right and people that say monday was better have a serious problem.how is a pen and an own goal good?

but it's too late to do anything now! No good young players will want to play at a club in our postion unless we pay them loads of money! Now i don't know the ins and outs of the club finances but it's hinted at that some players are on resonably large pay packets. Would it not be better to cut our losses and build for next season?

One huge blow for Windsor was the whole ressie side change. The new managers and players are good but the last lot had alot of players who could already offer an alternative to the first team. Just look at that 0-0 draw at Eastliegh and that was when Eastleigh where the form team of the league! 110% Commitment and then two days later we get stuffed by Sluff with out first team! Alarm bells should of been ringing then.

Oh Hum if buts and maybes cannot change a thing now. I'm gonna stop having a go as it's all been said before now and i'll support the current players and management staff but i'm not going to place a bet on us staying up!

Matt, the officials at the club do admit how poor we are at the moment, if the don't then why are they doing all they can to help Dave get players in order to try and solve the problem.

Everyone thought the same. No one goes into a season thinking "OK, I think I will get us relegated this season!" It doesn't matter how the goals come, just that they do. What the pen and the own goal show is that we were more attacking, and managed too get into areas which caused the opposition problems. Yes, I would have prefered to see two goals from open play but when you are in this position you should be thankfull for any goals from any part of the pitch.

Woody, it is never too late!! Until it is mathematicaly impossible to stay up there is always time. You are corect that you do not know the in's and out's of the clubs finances, and the majority of players are not on large pay packets, as you say. The club are trying to build for next season hence the signing of Lee Kersey on a contract until the end of next season. The club are trying to bring in new players, but you cannot expect to get rid of players until you have new ones to come in.

The ressie change was always going to happen irrelevant of Chuck staying or not. That, and the fact that Chuck left for Kingstonian was always going to lead to changes. When the reserves were dicussed in the summer they were always going to be a long term solution to finding new young players and not a quick fix. The club were lucky that they managed to find three players that made it more or less straight into the first team, but to find more than that half way through a season is usually unheard of. The other problem with the reserves is the fact that they play in the Capital League. Yes, it is better opposition but there are not enough games to keep the squad together long enough. Because of this you end up losing players because they are not playing together enough. Whilst Slough are playing at Stag Meadow this cannot change unless someone is willing to stump up the money to ground share with another team.

The general gist of it is that Peter Simpson said Windsor need about 43 more points from the remaining games, which is very unlikely, so if games aren't being won in the next couple of weeks, Windsor will start to prepare for next season in Division One - which I assume means a budget cut first and foremost. However he said that he doesn't see any change in manager occuring. Windsor will continue looking for new players in the transfer window, particularly a striker, with the hope of signing a Football League player on loan.

The other news was that Peter Simpson said that meetings haven't taken place with Slough Town over a groundshare for next season, but Roy Merryweather says that work is taking place behind the scenes on the STFC ground-share situation. Also, it was mentioned that Peter will be having a heart bypass operation later this month.

the last paragrahp puts it all in perspective, Its only a game of football for gods sake so a dozen players wont get so much money if you go down, your chairman i understand pays out of his own pocket and is due a heart by pass, I wish there were more chairman of his stature around, Wish him well and a speedy recovery, where would you be without him. expersive players come and go so hang onto your youngsters and let them give your chairman and club a future to be proud of.

If the Capital league is a better standard but less games and only on Wednesdays where is the clubs logic for the future in playing in this league, it disrupts everything from more use of the pitch on mondays ressie training, difficulty in travelling midweek to some games with traffic probs, weeks between games, {last game was back in early Dec}dont train with first team, dont get to know first team tactics, standards, players and lots more. Why cant the ressies play on Saturdays like other clubs, train with the firsts, get managers comparing standards of players fitness, commitment in training, push the first team in all aspects, have first team players drop into the ressies for match fitness if not selected or comming back after injury after all there must be at least six players from the squad who dont play every week and desperate for a game.Start next season Make it a club again not two seperate ones what have you to loose or is this ground share/cash the problem with Slough playing every other week and some Tuesdays.in which case there is not much future for the ressies to look for, put yourself in their position im sure it would attract other youngsters if you played on saturdays. By the way this mail is meant to be constructive and not a pop at WEFC.
