many thanks to everyone who made the effort to get to worthing yesterday ,i was pleased with the fitness levels considering we had only been back a week .understandably you have shown great loyalty to the players from last season ,many have decided to leave, some hopefully will stay ,new players have joined who are all totally committed to hornchurc fc.once again thankyou

It is a human trait(?) to dislike change and to show loyalty to our friends (and we feel close enough to our players to call them friends). We will of course over the next few weeks become to know the new players as we do at the start of most seasons(and management) too. Change (as much as we dislike it) however is essential or else we could not continue to attain our targets.

As you say good luck to the lads that have left for pastures new.

Good to see you on here Colin <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> Here's to another successful season.

P.S. Sorry I couldn't make teh Worthing game.

Following the Urchins for many years, I have seen many changes and must say that some good stuff was played yesterday, more importantly the lads could be seen to be actively encouraging each other, both old and new and that is an integral part of a good team.

Without commenting on individuals, it is quite obvious that everyone is going to be given a fair crack of the whip, so to speak.

Keep the faith Colin and good luck to you and your team.

'twas a good day out and interesting to see the new players and those from last year playing alongside of each other and getting to know each others games.....it is obvious from where I was sitting that the new players represent experience and connie standard class and it was also nice to see the players from last year slip into the team and do well.....tommo by the way is fine...

we never like to lose any game and well done the worthing No 8 who was a serious nuisance all afternoon but on any other day we would have taken some of our several chances and run out comfortable winners....

I am very optimistic about this coming season... <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/bounce.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/bounce.gif" alt="" />

What I liked was the breaks for liquid the ref kept giving us!

BTW: Anyone notice him? What a difference already, whoops don't speak too soon, but it was nice to go and see some courteous people and be greeted as soon as we walked in the clubhouse, makes a big difference.

I thought the ref was over fussy max but thats just my opinion..

worthing are a nice club (me and 'mon petre bucherie' did 4 great burgers in 'tween us)............. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/cheeburga.gif" alt="" />

and the welcome we all received was excellent...great day out and lots of things to look forward too.....I shall keep an eye on worthings results as well..that No 8 didn't 'alf remind me of charlie taylor and will score goals next season in the ryman prem...

Damn, I missed the beers!!!!

I thought we played well enough against a pretty well organised outfit, we created a few chances and kept on trying.

Personally I thought we'd end up a '1 nil to the AFC' outfit this season, but that doesn't look to be the case.

And those two who started up front (don't yet know their names) look like they had some sort of telepathy! Could be interesting when everything else settles down.

Looking forward to next week already! <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
