Play Off Preparations

Recommended Posts

Come on the Town - lets make sure we are ready for it this year.

Lets turn our past failures into our advantage and I would like to suggest that the players watch this clip

Lets stop all of this moaning and get on with what we have to do. We are the 2nd best team in this league and can win the play offs EASILY!

Lets stop the negative, angry thoughts NOW.

Steve told me he's planning on taking a leaf out of his idol Glenn Hoddle's book by recruiting faith healer Eileen Drewery on a short-term contract to ward off any evil spirits that may choose to hover near the Donkey Dome over the coming weeks. That is enough to completely reassure me. He's also going to have a wee on each of the corner flags before kick-off next week as apparently that will guarantee promotion! It's in the bag!

No way should we start thinking about the play-offs yet.. Granted a seven point gap, with eighteen points to play for, is a big one but as the saying goes 'it's a funny old game'.

Leiston play Redbridge at home (who need a win to stay in touch with fifth place) and then go to Tilbury (who also need to win) in their next two games so they could (hopefully) slip up.

Saying that though Town have Two very tough games coming up against Harlow Town (as above---they need to win) and then Needham Market (who have, after their blip, ominously hit some form of late)....The league could look very different in a few weeks??

GET BEHIND THE TEAM ON SATURDAY AS HARLOW ARE BOUND TO BRING A FEW OF THEIR NOISY LOYAL SUPPORTERS!!! COME ON TOWN!!

If Leiston do win the league the play-offs will be very nerve wracking, tense but hopefully very exciting. With Needham Market, Grays Athletic, Tilbury, Afc Sudbury, Harlow Town and Redbridge all possibly involved we need to be positive and secure at least 2nd place for home advantage.

Couldn't agree more, win our last 6 games & at the worst finish as runners up & have home advantage.

Have Leiston's ground be graded for the Ryman Premier or not? Anyone know? They only got graded at the last minute for the Ryman 1 North.

All seems to be rumours as ever at this time of the season. If they haven't done the necesary yet they've only got till Saturday.

Thought I heard it was the 28th for an inspection at Ground.

Leiston web site mentioned "works at ground" the other day.

Don't think there is any point going down this road, as I am sure it would make no difference to the play-off situation.

Let's stick to winning our remaining games.

We can only have an affect on OUR games so why worry about others?

Get as many points as we can and see where that leaves us.

Why is it that one defeat brings the idiots out?

Hello you Enfield boys. Don't worry about our ground grading as it is sorted. Another post mentions we only passes ryman 1 at last minute - totally wrong. The inspection was last minute, but that how the fa and ryman league do things.

However, good luck for rest of season, it will be very nerve racking till end of season for both of us.

I believe they are on the League web site.

Tuesday 1st May

2nd v 5th

3rd v 4th

Final Sunday 6th May ( to avoid FA Cup Final on 5th )

Top league team at home

2nd v 3rd or 4th

or

3rd or 4th v 5th

Clear !!

So just to confirm we are playing on Tuesday 1st or Wednesday 2nd May and then we will be promoted on Sunday 6th May?

Any extra time or away goals or is it straight to penalties this year?
