Welwyn Garden City FC - Vacancy

Recommended Posts

COYS - Well I don't doubt the whispers are flying around, they always do. However I still not have received news of any new appointment so as such I cannot contact the press, inform both the SSML and Herts FA to complete affiliation forms and handbook details and of course officially announce it here.

Perhaps you would like to tell us all who has got the job if you believe your whispered sources.

Karen - I will wait for you to tell everyone first. It won't be hard to see if what I have heard is right after that now will it. Not knocking you Karen as I know your so far away and as you have said already not involved in the process.

I do find it hard that Karen, as Football Secretary has not been informed of the developments in the position. It's not exactly hard to send a text or e-mail & especially as Karen does alot of good PR work for WGC particuarly on here, I thought it would be pretty much standard to keep her informed.

From the whispers I have heard there is now a new manager in place....

Karen - If the above is true then you must be feeling a bit upset at not receiving a phone call, text or e-mail, be honest

Syd, was not having a dig at you for your comments, was merely informing you and everyone else reading this thread on what is going on.

Yes the whole thing has become a bit long winded but I'm sure the people back at the club are doing everything possible to ensure we get the right person(s) for the job and I have every confidence in them in their selection process.

Rhodes, no I am not upset, I am in contact regularly with members of the committee as this is a busy time for all with concerns on all matters not just the managerial appointment. I have friendlies to be arranged, advertisers to be sought for the programme, the list goes on ........... unlike you who just trawls the internet looking at what other posts you can dredge up and snipe about. Stick to what really is close to your heart ...... who the next celebrity on deal or no deal will be and when you can sit in front of your PC and what it.

Karen - in no way was I having a pop at you in any shape or form. It is clear to everyone on here that you do a lot for the club and more then most. If you lived close to the club then I think it would be a well run ship. I do think though at this late stage someone should have been in place and doing the things that managers should have in place already at this time of year... A lot of clubs need people like yourself who give up a lot of time for the love of the game. Every club at this level needs good people in all roles

Well to come up with a Rhodes-ism it's all over twitter like a rash.

Good luck Chinola. I think that's quite a decent appointment.

Must say that is a good appointment Scott will do well as long as the club has the same vision as he does. Think the club will get some good signings now and should turn the place around. I reckon WGC will finish in the top 4 now.

Well the cat was out of the bag thanks to the Twitter network but below is the official brief club statement that has gone to the press:

Welwyn Garden City FC would like to announce the new management team for the forthcoming season is Scott O’Donoghue and his assistant will be Pablo Ardiles. Both are former players of the Citizens and the club looks forward to a long and successful partnership.
