Big Vase game for Ampthil hope they get the game on a big crowd and a positive result.

With snow due tomorrow plus the freezing conditions guess for most games it'll be touch and go......know Ampthill will do everything possible to get it on but also got to consider crowd safety too I'd guess?

From the SSML Fixture Secretary Eric Harrison:-

In view of the recent inclement weather we have been experiencing and with snow forecast for tomorrow and Saturday, the League has granted permission for Clubs to inspect their own grounds for this Saturday only. Should you be of the opinion that it is not possible for a game to be played, you must inform myself, the match officials and the away team, that the game is postponed. Do not inform Jim Bean.

Telephone calls and / or emails must be made to me by 7.00 pm, Friday 18th January. If not made by this time, I will consider that you are of the opinion that a game may be played and that you will be requesting an inspection by a referee as detailed on page 12 of this years handbook.

This only applies to matches in the Spartan South Midlands Football League and not in County Cups or The FA Vase ( Kings Langley and Ampthill Town ).

Sensible decision

I'm not sure I agree, if a home Club has injuries or un-availability then clearly they are going to call the game off, it just plays into their hands.

Codicote Sec informs me that Gosling Pitch inspection at 6pm tonight. Although he doesn't hold out much hope due to pitch covered in snow when we trained on the 3rd G on Wednesday. (ps also trained Tues indoor circuits)

A sensible decision from a sensible Committee - unlike many of your comments................

Well I'm certainly not saying that the SSML Committee aren't sensible as I'm their biggest fans but the decision just plays into the home Club's hands that's all
