Oscar Pistorius

Recommended Posts

As I said on an early post, people who have met him say he is very much a 'dual-personality' character.

I suppose he might go for a 'temporary insanity' plea in the end.

Why would he go for a temporary insanity case if he was innocent ?

The truth is that there's only one person alive that actually knows what happened. What is certain though is that guns are evil and have no place in a civilised society.

I want one!

The brother of South African athlete Oscar Pistorius - accused of murdering his girlfriend - is also facing trial over the death of a woman.

Carl Pistorius is charged with culpable homicide over the death of a woman motorcyclist in a traffic accident, his lawyer said.

The case has no relation to the charges against Oscar Pistorius over the shooting of Reeva Steenkamp.

The Paralympic star - who was released on bail on Friday - denies murder.

The charges against Carl Pistorius over an accident involving his car in which a woman on a motorcycle died date back to 2010 but have only just emerged, local media reports say.

They were confirmed to the BBC by Pistorius family lawyer Kenneth Oldwage.

The accident took place in the town of Vanderbijlpark, an hour's drive south of Johannesburg.

Police conducted tests on Carl Pistorius and he was found to have no alcohol in his blood at the time, the BBC's Milton Nkosi in Johannesburg says.

He is due in court at the end of March, which means his trial may end before his younger brother Oscar's is due to begin on 4 June.

Carl Pistorius was a constant presence at his brother's four-day bail hearing.

Oscar Pistorius admits shooting Reeva Steenkamp at his home on Valentine's Day but denies murder, saying he mistook her for an intruder.

So what has that got to do with the Oscar Pistorius case?

I think when the prosecution disclose their hand fully we are all going to know what happened. Talk in the papers that the autopsy clearly shows that her skull was crushed. Blood on the cricket bat - 2 + 2 at this stage - but she wouldn't have been able to lock herself in the bathroom and or be in any standing or seated position to take the bullets fired through the door to her body with a crushed skull.

My guess is that she was dead long before Pistorius thought he could attempt to make this look like a "mistaken burglery" by shooting a dead girlfriend.

Not disclosed by the prosecution at the bail hearing because they don't have to show their hand until afterwards, nearer the trial.

One of the big tragedies about this case is that disabled people and their families worldwide have probably lost forever their greatest and most inspirational figure ever, and even if found not guilty he will always be tainted because of his association with guns.

Hopefully one of the magnificent athlete from the 2012 Paralympics will take his place, but that can only happen if the celebrity obsessed media machine give these athletes the coverage they deserve.

You know what the media is like though, Alan.

They love celebs so much, even worshiping them as demi-Gods.

  • 1 year later...

Well, it's time to resurrect this thread.

After seeing, (or should I say HEARING him), give evidence on last nights news, I reckon he must be in line for a best supporting actor Oscar next year.

Talk about playing the 'Sympathy'  card !
