Nice people both at Windsor and at Colliers Wood.

However, after our result last night, I can only hope for one outcome !

Well, the temperature had improved and we were playing a team near the bottom so all should be good. Well turning up to see the absence of Laza and Sheehan to add to our list of missing players my hopes dropped a little. Gould had been dropped, he was now playing up front and just to add to the evening the heavens opened!! Well, there are some bad grounds in our division but being able to stand behind both goals without getting wet, in the increasingly tumultuous weather, puts this ground above so many others.

Well, the game started and not a lot happened, we counted the crowd, 35 or 36, couldn't decide, three of behind the goal, then another turns up, then another, really getting busy, oh bugger they appear to have scored, how did that happen, no-one really knew, whistle, half time. There are the first half highlights.

Second half Windsor really seemed to up their game and started to play some nice football, the pitch was getting wetter and playing the ball on the floor was difficult. Then Windsor got a lucky break, the ball fell to Luke Dexter and he slammed the ball in from a tight angle. 15 mins later Windsor take the lead from a short corner,a ball whipped in and Luke Dexter again to place a great header past the keeper.

Just on full time Windsor concede a penalty, nobody seems to protest too hard and then the penalty is dispatched very well, heavy sighs all round and a draw when possibly we deserved a win. Now previously overpaid players would have given up and shrugged off responsibility, but these players dug deep, and battled to the end, a goal mouth scramble and Jay turns and slams the ball into the net. Mick goes on a run down the wing wagging his finger, Jay and the team run to him, truly ecstatic with the win, Colliers are devatstated, and the ref blows the whistle. Not a great game but a great result and great character.

The Colliers Wood keeper made some very good saves and had a good game, but had very little else and our players really showed they had fight in them to dig out a result on a wet and windy evening.

Well done to the team tonight and we look very promising for next season

I second all those views. Despite the appalling weather it was a very entertaining game and deserved the cliffhanger ending. All those wearing the red shirt deserve our thanks for sticking to the task and getting a great result.

Also thanks to the CW people for their friendly hospitality - great to chat with you, and wish you every success with your pitch renovation next week, let alone in the Premier Challenge Cup Final against Guernsey on 3rd May.
