SCORES & RESULTS: SATURDAY 21st, SEPT.

Ash Utd 0 Frimley Green 1

Frimley completed the double or the treble (cup win) over us & all by one goal with all off then with very late goals

an even first half saw both team create chances but failed to take them. 2nd half Frimley started better & could easily have taken the lead but for better finishing. However we grew into the game & could have taken the lead ourselves, but then in the final minute Frimley won a corner which was well header home by Matt Griffiths to take all the points.

Its another defeat...that's now 8 of the last 9 & 7 by the odd goal, but its still a defeat which isnt good enough, need to start turning them into wins soon or it will be a long hard season, which could mean a similar season to the last one

Vase - Mole Valley SCR 4-6 Greenwich Borough.

Crazy game with Boro taking the lead in the first few seconds, three up after 25 minutes with the score at HT being 2-4. SCR started the 2nd half well and got it back to 3-4 and had chances to equalise but Boro eventually got a fifth before Phil Page completed his hat trick to bring it back to 4-5 with 15 to go. Chances to equalise came and went before a goal saving handball on the line at the other end lead to a SCR red card and a 95th minute penalty converted by Boro to put the game to bed. Highlights to follow.

Whyteleafe are a very, very good side and have every chance of promotion this season. Even so, we nearly got through them on Saturday.

We held a lead for over an hour and it was cruel on our keeper who fumbled a long shot which was tapped in for an equaliser, as he had been brilliant.

This also tells you that Whyteleafe created a lot. However, we also had some good chances and we just couldn't kill them off. Going into extra time, I felt it would be difficult and a 96th minute penalty gave them the lead. I always stand behind the goal we are attacking, but people at the other end were either of the opinion that it definitely wasn't a penalty, or that our keeper got a bit of both man and ball. It appears an unfortunate decision.

As Dessie said, we need to get back on track this Tuesday as League results went very well for us at the weekend with Hanworth and South Park dropping points while the other more dangerous looking teams Hartley and Windsor meet tomorrow, so there will be more dropped points there too.

That said, if someone had said you could have 24 out of 27 points, but be out of the Cup and Vase early, I might well have taken it. Sure the cup money would be nice, but to slightly vary the quote about concentrating on the league, it does give us the opportunity to get some points on the board while all our main rivals remain in Cup and Vase or both. Certainly a win on Tuesday over Wembley would give us the opportunity to go to Windsor on Saturday with all the onus on the home side and no pressure on us whatsoever.
