If Victor doesnt sponsor us the season after next to the tune of 150k and attendances stay at around 1300, what happens to the club, do we assume debts of 150k a yr and go bankrupt within the next five years?Im happy to see the club move forward with the appointment of Andy as a full time manager which has been long overdue but i think Andy is correct in that there IS a big nice market for the best part time players out there. If as a a club we can attract the best part time players we will finish in the top 6. I dont think it is a necessary step for the club to go full time.

The club could save themselves 30-40k a year by getting rid of Glenn Aitken. I have always said this, but this bloke costs the club more a year than what he brings in from revenue. What has he achieved in the time he has been at the club? The Gladwish money was generated from postings on this forum and then by a follow up call from Brian and not Glenn. Personally, i think Andy could take over the chief executive role and be a manager at the club as well. This would be better money spent IMHO. As i said above it worries me a bit that we are budgeting for Gladwish continuing to fund the club. The new season is one of excitement for us all and with some great signings already made we should do well. I just hope off the field activities are cost effectively managed.

For someone who is full time we should be having some sort of publicity hook for every game. Not just once in a blue moon.

Ideas have been posted on this forum time after time after time but very few seem to get used and those that do seem to be either miscommunicated or are dealt with poorly. Some of the ideas such as season ticket offers and child free scheme but Ladies matches were good but need to be expanded and as for the only 4 tickets per person farce for the Notts County game resulting in a crowd of 2,800 the less said the better. We only have to look up the road at Charlton to see what can be achieved with a good community programme and then down the road at Gillingham to see the result of poor public relations can achieve. Lets hope Glenn can follow the example up the road.

So what do other clubs do with income from a sponsor?
We are in the middle of the sponsorship deal with Gladwish so have every right to budget including that money.

With Brian at the helm we'll be ok.

If as Wobbs sys his salaryis £12000, any money raised more than that represents value 4 money by the club.

Glen was a key figure in brokering the Gladwish deal, probably the most important and biggest in the Club's history.

My only worry is his apparent desire to marry Gillingham.

We need to remain indenpendant, with our own stadium, be it at a redeveloped Stonebridge Road or a brand new one.

My personal choice, which would also be the cheaper option, would be to rebuild where we are.

I have to disagree...the reason for the low turn out for that particular game was the fact that Notts County was not a top draw and those who may've been tempted to come, sat on their lazy ar*es in the pub and watched it on Sky. You can hear them now:
" An' I saved masel' twelve quid n'all" - the idle f*****s!

Wasn't the 4 tickets per person a result of all the complaints on this forum before the limit was imposed?

I think you are right..

The club gets damned if they do and damned if they don't..

Most cases its the same people whinging at every decision or non decision that gets made..

The club has come a long it the past few seasons and I have never been more optimistic about a forthcoming season..

We must be getting something right..

Roll on Thursday and the fixture list coming out.

I agree - roll on August..... these European Championships are boring by comparison (except 2-2 for Denmark vs Sweden was a good earner <img src="/images/graemlins/smirk.gif" alt="" />)
