Sorry for being a bit of a thickie, but i dont think i fully understand the situation of whats happened today. I assume hornchurch as a club still exists, but do they still have the same manager/players.

Are they now likely to do a Barry town and lose every game from now on and get relegated?

Does this mean we can now sign Bertie B on a permanent basis for not much money, if in fact we havent signed him already.

How many of the fans who currently watch the urchins will carry on do you think?

I feel sorry for the genuine fans of hornchurch, ie the ones who were supporting before all the money came along, especially as they were so close to getting into the conference.

Sorry for all the questions, like i said, im a thickie

Basically speaking there's no money to pay the players - their paychecks were stopped this week. Assuming nobody comes in to pick up the 23 grand a week tab, then Hornchurch would be in breach of contract.

The rumour is that all the players have left, and that Calder and Hill are desparately trying to put together a team for Saturday's game.

What happens next rather depends on the players - if they are happy to have their contracts "cancelled by mutual consent" then the rebuilding process could be quite an easy one (assuming no other major outstanding debts). If the players decide they want their money then it could be bleak for hornchurch, and they would be likely to go into administration.

Bertie was under contract at Hornchurch so is in the same boat. Rumour has it discussions about making the move permanent have been ongoing so I assume we'll be in pole position if he becomes a free agent.
