We played them in the Herts Senior and lost 4-2 they were awful at the back but very mobile up front. We have them again in a couple of weeks in the Herts Chariteeeee Sheild / Eggcup or something.

I thought the defence was good.

 

The midfield play - especially Matt Negus, who I thought played better last night than for many weeks, was astounding.

 

All in all the aproach play was tremendous.

We played well defencively but failed with the final pass again. In the first half it seemed as though we wanted to run the ball into the net rather than shoot.

 

The match was refereed well. Yes, he did make some mistakes but was quick to clamp down on any trouble before it really flared up. I cannot see why some of our staff were slagging him off so loudly after the game. Good to see a side that doesn;'t retaliate at the slightest provocation. Is this something common in the SSML that ESL clubs should learn from.

 

Felt sorry for Jim after the game with Beardsley taunting him about the sarff Liondon pikeys losing last night......NOT!

I believe that we would have won a lot easier had the final ball been delivered better than it was. We even had corners that didn't get above knee level!

 

Good to see no mass brawls, fighting, intimidation, etc.

 

Thought the referee had a very good game compared to most officials we have had this year. Although there were a few instances whereby we were wondering what decision he had given, I felt he controlled the game, did not worry about breaking up two players when things could have got out of hand, and communicated with the linesmen.

 

I believe Frank and Roy were approached to lend a hand with the pitch! No doubt only a rumour.
