Lease

You would have thought that after all the work done by Town volunteers at Goldsdown road. The Brimsdown committee would be slightly more conciderate to their current tennants.Maybe their attitude is: Now Town have down all the hard work and preperation,we can now offer this vastly improved ground to anyone who will wave a bit more money at us,than Town can offer?

I wonder who else could be interested in leasing Brimsdown in the future?????

If things work out for us,any new leasers and Brimo would be welcome to eachother in the future. It could be a match made in heaven.

In the meantime. Most Town fans would welcome clarification by our committee,as to our status regarding our lease with Brimsdown. The most important question needs to be Can Brimsdown legally stop sharing with Town and offer the lease to another club BEFORE our ten year lease has expired?.I know others have asked that question in the past, but it is an important issue that needs to be quickly addressed.

Finally, have the Brimsdown committee been made aware that any future ground lease offered by them to another club would basically be a lease for an empty ground, and that any future potential leaser would need to spend considerable money to bring the ground back up to step4 level,if Town vacate?

I was also under the impression that the Lease was a "10 year rolling" arrangement.

Can someone on the Board please confirm.

Interesting to look at Brimsdown Rovers web site - main photographs of "their ground" feature "Our Stand" which I assume would leave with us, if / when, we go.

At this years AGM our board clarified that the stands and terracing WERE the property of Town.Maybe it would be wise to remind the Brimsdown committee of that fact.

My only worry, was if the stands were part of the original 10 year lease deal, and that we may not be able to reclaim them until the lease has run its course.

Also,i presume Town could have withdrawn from a rolling 10 year lease if we had quicky aquired a new ground. So does that mean Brimsdown can pull out of the agreement if they get a better offer?

Clarification Please!!

Gentlemen please!! Before we allow our mouths to run away with brains disengaged, can we please get a few facts straight first. Such as - Exactly what happened at the BRFC meeting? What is the ETFC stance on the matter? And - has anything really changed?

To do otherwise would be possibly to stir up unnecessary trouble. Think about it!

ENFIELD TOWN Council F C

I have been a member and supporter of Brimsdown sports & social club for many years and on last tuesday evening attended a E G M meeting .

We were there to considor an offer from Enfield Town F C and Enfield council for a joint lease of 30 years between Brimsdown S&SC & Enfield Town F C . Present were Two members from each club and one from the council (I wonder which way the council member would have voted ?) The question was asked HOW MUCH RENT ENFIELD TOWN F C have paid to be at the ground over the last FIVE YEARS the ANSWER is NOTHING!! ZILCH !! I thought I had misheard the answer but no NOTHING !! An average groundshare would cost anything between£50,000- £75,000 over the five years NOT NOTHING !! It has been suggested that Enfield Towns support has dwindled over the past couple of years and now spend very little money at "OUR CLUB" In fact all of their fund raising events now take place at other venues so as NOT to support our bar takings .I along with all our other members have to pay rent for our homes ,Pay council tax ,electric/Gas bills/water rates every single year .ENFIELD TOWN DON'T STRUGGLE THEY JUST DON'T PAY !! Please don't tell me about the money spent on the main pitch as that is required to be up to Ryman standard for the Town. Surely the sponsors of Enfield Town pay rent & rates for their Businesses along with massive electric & water bills ,How would their sponsors feel if we all spent nothing at their shops and businesses . It is my conclusion that its a disgrace to support this football club 50/50 ??? what a laugh , stick to your own 50/50 tickets.

From what i have seen on this thread,Town members have mearly asked important, relevant, and obvious questions in reply to Andys post.Confirmed by the fact that you yourself also asked three questions about the subject in your above post.

Let's assume your figures are correct, the average is £12,500 per annum, If ETFC were to bill BRFC for all the work done both on and off the pitch, BRFC would still owe ETFC money.

And the reasons for ETFC not using the bars at Brimsdown are wll documnented, and the "bar takings" issue is only a small part of it.

1.Brimdown have made many many thousands of pounds out of bar reciets since Town started sharing.
2.Brimsdown SSC have been very happy with this arrangement.
3. Brimsdown now have a vastly improved ground.A standard that could never have been achieved without Towns presence.
4.Brimsdown now have a better squad and management team than they have had for a long time, funded mainly by increased revenue from Towns presence at Goldsdown rd.
5. Town maintain, cut and prepare the pitch.Pay for reseedng and resoiling.Have regular volutary work parties to continually improve Brimsdowns facilies.

6.Towns crowds have not dropped. The reason Town fans have stopped using Brimsdown facilites as much as previously, is completely down to a change of approach towards us by Brimsdown SSC.(The Downs/usage of the pitch/attitude of some staff.)

I am an Enfield Town Supporter who USED to be a fully paid up member of Brimsdown Sports & Social Club. I am no longer a Member of BRSSC simply because of the attitude given towards myself and other members of ETFC. We were always made to feel very unwelcome on our visits to the bar, and were told on many occasions that we were not wanted there.

Despite all this I still have continued to help with the development at Goldsdown Road. As far as I am concerned it is for the good of both clubs.

The reason we no longer use the BRSSC facilities for our fundraising has been fully documented elsewhere. It is not very nice when you get stabbed in the back is it?

I think personally that Brimmo get the better side of the deal. They get ALL the Bar Takings on ETFC Match Days. We just get the Gate & what other things such as 50-50 that we sell.

We (ETFC) have done an awful lot of work on and off the pitch, floodlights etc. Last year Roy Butler was presented with Groundsman of the Year for the great work he had done on the pitch. Don't forget that we have regular work parties to keep the ground in the best condition we can, considering the anmount of vandalism there is I think we do a great job. How many games have been called off lately not very many I know.

We do have a good working relationship with quite a few Brimmo people but there are always going to be some people who do not like change. Would you prefer to still be playing on a Park Pitch?

Maybe if certain people associated with your club get there own way, the whole site will eventually be sold for housing anyway, what happens to all the teams that play there then? Be warned of people bearing fals promises. Be very afraid,I would!!!

It seen there are a lot of people on here that have no real idea why the Brimsdown Rovers Social Club members voted to not include ETFC on the lease.

It also appears most of you confuse Brimsdown Rovers Football Club Committee and with the Social Club.

You involved in being part of the lease on the club and it land, does not say we dont want you around or that we want to end any agreements that are in place. all it says it we want to carry on as we are on our own.

Just one point which seem to be under all that is going on around this and the use of the facilities by your supporters.

Enfield FC using The Down.

I would point out not have ETFC as part of the new and or improved lease dose or does not mean EFC can or cannot be part of a lease this was not and has not ben discused as far as I know so dont think its you out and them in.

and on a final point someone please tell me this. how long would the agreement wth EFC have stayed in place if Brimo and ETFC had agreed a joint lease.

Finally Merry Christmas to all at Brimsdown and ETFC and happy new year

Do you think WE want to be at Brimsdown? We thank the inital Brimsdown committee for allowing us to share, but after that fact,we are there out of pure necessity. Its a god forsaken spot that we have tried to make livable for the purposes or watching our beloved club play in Enfield.(although as i say, we do remain grateful for the inital lease, and we feel sure we have repayed that generosity with interest,in the improvement we have brought to your facilites).

We would like nothing better than to leave you,and your attitude TO IT!Believe me.

Brimsdowns attitude to us (good natured) Town fans has always been cool and self serving. The even frostier attitude we see now towards us can be directly traced back to two events last year. The arrival of EFC and the rumours of property development interest.
