Every player will get the chance to shine

I am sure you have noticed that managers have there favourite players and then players they do not like so much in day to day work you get on with some people better than other’s.

I think this is were the biggest plus of myfc picking the team comes in members don’t have any loyalty or friendships with the players the only way myfc members will judge the players is by what the do on the pitch.

This means everyone really is on a level playing field if a player is performing he will keep playing if he’s not some one else will get the chance to show what they can do.

Some would counter that occasionally you get players who have a positive or negative effect on the attitude & confidence of others around them, which is not apparent to those not in contact with the squad personally.

Obviously, the negative ones have to be shown the door, even when they have undoubted ability. Conversely, the manager might favour a player because he fires others up to perform well as a unit, even though he might not quite have the individual ability of someone he is keeping out the team.

that normally show's on the pitch with attitudes to team mates when a pass is miss hit or a team mate miss's a chance to score

Graham S i'll use liverpool as an example is peter crouch going to cause problems with other players? NO so why's he not playing he plays he scores

the answer is rafa and him dont get on hes better for the team than other strikers but is being left out

I take your point about Crouchy.

Still think the player whose psychology undermines the team spirit, or plays in a way that others find hard to read, can be really hard to spot, especially for those many members who will not see the team at 1st hand for an entire 90 minutes.

However, as a Fleet supporter for 36 years, who signed up to MyFC on the day their link to Ebbsfleet hit the news, I also want the MyFC thing to work, but see team related matters as being potentially the most problematical.

If players are only judged by there performance on the pitch, how will a junior say like Akinde get into the side ? they have no serious on pitch performance to be judged by, so no youth side needed? only transfered players to be brought in ? I cannot see Myfc voters, voting for a unknown quantity can you ? only the manager see.s how players are progressing on the training pitch, youth sides etc

This is a crucial point. As far as I understand it we will be given full briefings by Liam prior to selcting teams. It remains to be seen have in depth he is prepared to go regarding players who are causing problems/training badly on a 'public' forum. The players and management will have to get used to the MyFC set-up and accept that the inner-workings of the squad will need to be made public in order for the best possible team to be selected. It will be interesting to see how this works in practice.

Very badly due to the fact opposition teams will have our team named two days or so before, we will get there's one or two hours before the game, so thats tactics gone out of the window for us, but never mind they have only had two days to work out our weaknesses etc

Well, maybe (and this is purely hypothetical), he could get a place on the bench due to injuries / suspensions / family bereavements / the small size of our squad and then come on in the final few minutes to get a run out.

Following this he could maybe score a very late goal in, say, the FA Trophy. He could follow this with another goal from the bench in something like the Setanta Shield.

If he does all of this then there will be an increasing groundswell of opinion in favour of his starting a game.

Sorry, that is probably a bit far fetched

If the manager has to go with the team, that has been voted for each week this cannot ever happen can it ? There are not going to vote a unknown into the side are they?

This is where you seem so naive, no its not the same when you bring in a player, you have scouted him for a start,They will also have some kind of form, and or reputation, if he has come up through the youth sides, you have watched him week after week, talk sense man.Against the take over no, against nobs picking the side yes

No any other club the manager picks the side not the board or 20,000 strangers, who have no idea about the players, and would have a job finding there way to the ground, even if they could be bothered

Of course they don't.

The board pay a manager to pick the team, when he screws up they sack him.
They give the manager money to use in the transfer market if he buys the wrong players they sack him.
The only final say they have is how much he can spend and when to change managers.

This is why so many people were against this deal........People who know nothing about football or how a club is run, suddenly making decisions!
