Knaphill DeLIGHTED

Recommended Posts

After months of planning, meetings and waiting, Knaphill Football Club received the great news last night that we have been granted planning permission for floodlights, a 50 seater stand and hardstanding at Redding Way.

This will now help secure our status in the Combined Counties Football League and although we will need to increase the stand capacity, this will give us the correct criteria alongwith some minor improvements to gain promotion to the Premier Division should the club finish in the promotion places come the end of the season.

Krooner,

Come on then tell us about your topic of conversation about Knaphill then?

Hartley Hare,

We might not even need to finish in the top three. Currently as it stands in the table, Worcester Park, Farleigh Rovers can't get lights. Mole Valley SCR need to have a ground share agreement in place for a year and Staines Lammas i heard last night they have beeen refused permission to for lights at Laleham Rec and also refused by the league permission to gain promotion via ground share with Ashford Town as they have not had a ground share agreement in place for a year. Only yourselves have the correct criteria providing you stay in the promotion places.

Another season of if and but's me thinks!

Of course that's what i have heard and in my opinion, any difference please say so.

It was about your lights Trenty. We were aware your planning application was last night and we were all saying we hoped it would go through as it strengthens the league. Purely that :)

This is fantastic news for Knaphill FC, it has taken many years of hard work and lobbying from the Chairman & Committee, but it has been worth it in the long term. The support of Woking Borough Council has been very important and the club wishes to thank WBC for all their hard work. Part of WBC's plans also include lights at Sheerwater's Athletic stadium, thus supporting Sheerwaters FC's continuence in the CCL; although because the pitch at the stadium is officially too small it could all be in vain!

sssh!

Seriously though, it is good to see Div 1 teams actaully tring to get their grounds up to scratch to move up a level. There are some who continue to be happy with a rope around the pitch and that does not help the reputation of the division.

if there was it would have read something like they were unlucky and the the feltham manager thought they were the best team they had played this season, along that sort of lines

Very good news for Knaphill, especially with all the support they are receiving from their local Council. All credit to WBC.

It's a crying shame that more Surrey District Councils don't offer more to struggling grass-roots football clubs.

If it was a rugby club, on the other hand.............

No Names - No Pack Drill ! :bootyshake:
