Savagebee - Yes, apologies, that presentation was made at the Harefield United v Cockfosters Reserves Middlesex FA Premier Cup Final last season, on 30 April 2019 at Uxbridge FC, which Harefield United won 2-1 with goals from Lenny Farhall and Richard Pacquette, photographs from the Final below:

Thought it was as Uxbridge FC is one of my fave grounds.

Lenny Farhall and Richard Pacquette are top players for The Hares.

Well after the Lord Mayors Show, and we are scraping the barrel a bit now, but photographs from the 2011/2012 SSML Premier Division fixture between Broxbourne Borough V&E and Harefield United, at Goffs Lane on 18 February 2012, which the visitors won 3-2. Harefield United raced into a 3-0 lead after just half an hour with goals from Keemo Maphela and two from Aban Majeed however, incredibly, Broxbourne Borough then pulled two back before the interval, you would never have imagined in a million years that the second period would be goalless:

A bit after the Lord Mayors Show but photographs from Enfield Town v Harefield United in a 2011/12 Middlesex Senior Cup First Round tie, at the Queen Elizabeth II Stadium on 9 November 2011, Enfield Town won 2-1 however Harefield United made a fist of it on what was Enfield Town's first match at the stadium following the sad loss of Southbury Road twelve years earlier which was just a stones throw away:

I assume that Harefield United Reserves are still going to be in the Surburban League Central Division this coming season, I gather that Leverstock Green have pulled their Reserve team out and Tring Athletic Reserves have moved to the Hertfordshire Senior County League so it's not surprising the League are looking for new blood:

Cockfosters Reserves, of the Herts Senior, seem to think that their first league game, (September 5th), is away at Harefield United.

Which would suggest that Harefield Res have joined the Herts.  I can't find a Herts constitution anywhere.  Does anyone have anything more on this ?

Agamemnon3 - Yes, Harefield United Reserves are in the Herts Senior County League Premier Division this coming season, see below, it looks competitive doesn't it and sadly the Surburban League appears to be on its last legs these days, their South Division only had seven teams last season and Central Division ten with Harefield United Reserves, Leverstock Green Reserves, Dunstable Town Development and Westfield FC Reserves all pulling out of the latter so no wonder they are desperately advertising for new blood:

Thanks for that R.  Yes, as you say, the Herts Prem looks like a seriously competitive division.

Although, quite honestly, I'm not sure what I think about this.  Are the 'genuine' Herts clubs, (Belstone, Cuffley, Ware Sports etc), being asked for too much in taking on Step 4 and 5 reserve sides week after week, or do they actually gain from the experience ?  And similarly, in the Senior Div, what's in it for the 'genuine' Herts clubs , (Evergreen, Hinton, Knebworth etc) ?  Wouldn't they be in the Prem if it weren't for other clubs' reserve/development sides ?  It's a difficult one, and, as I say, I'm not entirely sure what to think.

But yes, you're right again, the Suburban League is certainly in trouble.  But then parts of their website haven't been updated since 2015, which speaks volumes.

Harefield United's Reserve team entertain Cockfosters Reserves this afternoon (Saturday) for their first Herts Senior County League Premier Division fixture of the new campaign, kick off 3.00pm.

Harefield United must be wondering whether they did the right thing to pull their Reserve side out of the Suburban League in order to join the Herts Senior County League following their disappointing 4-1 defeat to Cockfosters Reserves at Preston Park yesterday afternoon in the first Premier Division fixture of the new campaign. They next meet Chipperfield Corinthians at Preston Park on Thursday evening, kick off 7.45pm, two days after the Under 18's side entertain Hampton & Richmond Borough in an exciting FA Youth Cup Preliminary Round tie on Tuesday.

Harefield completely outplayed yesterday, and lucky to get away with only a 4-1 defeat.

What makes it even worse is that although officially 'Cockfosters Reserves', back at Chalk lane they are referred to as 'the U23s', and even include a handful of last season's U18s.

I don't know what the general standard is in the Suburban League, but on yesterday's showing the step-up to the Herts Prem for Harefield was ill advised.  Referring to my earlier post, why are new sides in the Prem anyway ?  Surely they should be required to start in the Senior Division ?  That would be fairer, and better, for everyone.

Anyway, Harefield are a decent bunch and a good club, so let us hope yesterday was just first-day nerves.  No doubt Chipperfield will have something to say about that on Thursday.

Agamemnon3 - Thanks for your post, yes, lets see how Harefield United Reserves get on against Chipperfield Corinthians tomorrow evening at Preston Park, an anorak from another Forum was at their home game on Saturday against Sandridge Rovers and they don't sound like anything to write home about conceding a late equaliser. It sounds like Harefield United Reserves will have some nice away trips this season to leafy Hertfordshire locations:

Chipperfield Corinthians 1 Sandridge Rovers 1
Entry - free. Attendance - h/c 30. T&T - none. Weather - mixture of cloud and blue sky. Dry.
Chipperfield play at Queen Street in the heart of the village. No parking at the ground but plenty in the village. Queen Street itself is an unmade stony cul de sac with very old cottages along it. Dead picturesque.
The ground is a proper one. Fully enclosed, although the spectator area around the pitch is quite narrow. A clubhouse with changing rooms attached and a small bar. No lights or seating. Very rural...a nice place to watch a game.
As for the match well, apart from an excellent double save from the CC keeper, the first half was an unremarkable and incident free affair. Teams took H/T on the pitch. Second half was much better. CC took the lead on 63 after a goalmouth scramble and looked like they would hold on for a win. Alas for them, on 87 an SR angled shot was spilled by the CC keeper and the SR no. 12 tapped it in from about a foot. A draw probably a fair result.
Second match running for me with a lady linesman. Not sure that I've had that before.
