I'm banking on you Townies to get a result tonight . It'll drag them into the dogfight a bit more.  No slip ups like you normally do please. ?

Ok. I’ll go first.... some decent stuff played in the first half with width on the pitch and some good movement resulting in a cracking goal with BB finding Maluba at speed and an fast accurate cross turned in by Shaun Okojie.... our defensive frailties were there to see with the post saving us from going behind and a penalty striking the crossbar.... a satisfying first half.... the second half was just a mess of mistakes fouls bad passing and the ball going out of play ... the highlights were a couple of fierce strikes by the impressive Della-Verde .... A deserved win against a surprisingly poor Stortford side but we will need ninety minutes of quality on Saturday ....

Agree with Theo re the first half during which we dominated possession, scored an excellent goal, yet could have gone in 1-2 down at half time! Second half we didn’t play as well but made several clear cut chances which we didn’t put away.

Thought Ikoje looked very promising, linking up well with Bricknell - if we had been more clinical with our finishing we should have got that all important second goal to ease any nerves.

The shape and balance of the team looked good. The only change I would have made would have been to bring Ken Charles on for Bricknell earlier in the second half. Youngs was my man of the match and Della Verde threatened each time he had the ball going forwards. Muleba had a good game at right back though will regret the unnecessary tackle that gave away the first half penalty.

With our goal difference considerably lower than those teams already in the play-off positions, we need a run of wins now. Saturday against Worthing will be a proper test of our credentials.

Agree with much of what was said in the previous two posts - what was pleasing was the way we battled to the end and kept the clean sheet.

Should have put the game to bed earlier but Bishop's Stortford will feel they could have got something out of the game if they'd taken their chances so I think we should be pleased with the 3 points.

Glenn Wilson was brought into central defence with Jon Muleba moving across to the right to replace Sam Hatton (I wonder if that was with Aaron Greene's pace in mind?). Lyle Della-Verde also replaced Ken Charles in the starting 11. MoM for me was Lyle, with strong performances too from Jon Muleba and Ryan Blackman. Nice to see Shaun Okojie get his goal - a proper striker's goal getting across the defender to meet a good cross from Muleba.

Strange weather - not as cold as in recent weeks (about time!) but with a strong wind that had an impact.
