Terrace Songs

lovely stuff

May i say a well done to those behind the goal this season who are getting the singing going.

But what i don't like is the Man Utd flavour of the majority of the songs.... (Take a bow Southport).

The old Enfield fans used to base most of their songs on old Spurs/Chelsea songs. Many of which go back many years.

So well done for getting the singing going Southport. But less of the Northern influence and more of the traditional songs. (If you don't know these songs,i'm sure there are fans thast will give you a crash course on what to sing.)

Whilst we're on the subject, how about coming up with a song that is unique to the club.Teams like West Ham/Leeds/Portsmouth..etc. have songs that only there fans sing.It would be nice if we could come up with a song unique to Enfield Town.

Songs with a relevance to Enfield town are the best idea, exactly what have anti-arsenal songs got to do with the club.

Many of the supporters and some of the players are Gooners so there is a large part of people who wont join in, and dont even find them funny. If everyone else started anti-spurs songs that would exclude a different section of the support.Songs with a link to the Town can bring everyone together , surely that is the idea?

Not all songs at the old club were spurs/chelsea, and where do you think they got them from?

I've never heard anti-arsenal songs at the town ( although i don't stand directly behind the goal).

Going back to the original point. I don't see how singing songs created by Man Utd fans have any relevence to a North London Non league club.

The reason we used to sing Spurs/arsenal/ Chelsea derived songs was because MOST of the Enfield fans were also supporters of one of them clubs.

How many ETFC fans support Man u.????? Apart from the loudest person behind the goal, that is.

I remember an old chelsea song sung at southbury road, with prop in hand.

" celery, celery, if she don't come, i'll tickle her bum, with a lump of celery. "

thus waving a head of celery in the air.

Songs are sung at many grounds and are altered to fit so I dont see how you can say they are Moan U songs, they rip them off from other places and who did them first gets lost along the way.

If anyone wants some ideas I have two very good books about football songs,Dicks out and dicks out 2.

The songs i'm refuring to are songs sung ONLY by Man utd supporters. Such as 'Take me Home'..etc

LS a couple of choices for you as it is so upsetting for you:-

A) maybe we have a game where there is no singing;
or
B) you come along and teach us a new song, just like shoulders did in the Vase game
