First half Town went two up with two cracking goals. After that it was poor.

 

Ok ,you could say that Town fielded a scratch side and those that were on, wern't prepared to get a toe-in, with two big games coming up. But give credit to Eton manors attitude in the second half. Manors players wanted it a lot more.

 

To be fair it was 2-0 when Chopper was taken out of goal (pre-arranged by the way) and the lad that let the two goals in had never played in goal at this level before OR played for Town before. And Town played the last 15 minutes with 10 men(due to injuries).That's to take nothing away from Manor ,who's second half performance was very good .Town now have to beat Concord at home next tuesday to secure a place in the last 8. But as that's between the two games against Abbey and EFC . I wouldn't bet against us under performing in that one as well.

As for "keeper took off like was arranged" (great use of the English language, by the way) we knew Smith was going to get part of the second half. We also knew that he isn't as good as Chopper, which Eton Manor also knew, because they only really seemed to think they had a chance once Chopper had gone off.

And, yes, we finished with ten men because Jacquo Massala got injured after we had used all three subs. It happens sometimes, as you would be aware if you took any notice of the world outside your own head. Yes, Town underperformed. Yes, we got what we deserved.

Well done to Manor, BTW. Great fight-back.

Well, the night was full of surprises, the Manor dug deep and pulled off a great recovery, seem to be doing that a lot of late!. Great crowd, the boys really appreciated both sets of supporters giving them a cheer when they came off, shows what great sportsmanship there is at etfc, it also showed the genuine warmth and friendship that exists between the two clubs.

 

Must admit Junior takes some stick on here but, what a good job she does for Enfield Town. The Manor are under no illations, with a full strength Town team out we would have struggled especially going 2-0 down within the first 7 minutes of the game. Take nothing away from The Manor lads they worked hard for each other and got a result. The signs are there that, The Manor spirit is back and The Braves are finally going forward.

Great fightback by manor....town were good for about first 15-mins in both halfs ...think they could have had a couple of pens as well allen was almost a certain one in the 1st half and pamplin a probable in the second .Good to see the stick pamplin was getting from manor fans

I think manor should be asking their players why they can't perform as consistantly as they did in the second half last night.

 

If that sort of effort had been put in all season,i'm sure manor wouldn't be near the bottom of the league.

Funny old game ain it....Its all well and good saying Manor did well to come back.......yeh they did but be fair if ETFC had put a full side out it would have been no contest, or shouldnt have been at the least. It was more ETFC slacking and trying new players rather than a great comeback I thought.

Manor's work rate was good. They deserved to get something out of the game.

I was just saying, maybe they deserved something but in reality (its only my opinion) they only got it because Jim tried other things.....come on how many players from that starting line up will start on Sat?

i think the keeper and the back four will maybe adam gant will come in dave allen and lee smith.... and thats about it thought the midfield were very poor last night as were the front two ....but it willl be different on saturday

I was dissapointed with Pamplin last night. It was his chance to impress. I not sure he did enough to secure a place in the squad for the Abbey/EFC games.

Eton manor did very well in the second half last night and a spirited recovery must have given them a bit of a high. Some of our lads were just too reluctant to get stuck in and this allowed manor back into the game and wasn't Dean nymans miss ghastley. Manor could have even nicked it at the end as choppers deputy did manage one decent save. Where did Eton manor get that kit from ? last time I saw it wasps rugby club were wearing it, But a good game with our friends from the manor and look forward to the next encounter.
