I think it's unlikely Gerrard will become captain. I am most probably wrong but he's performance this World Cup will certainly go against him and I think Terry will take the armband.

don't think terry has been better than gerrard in this world cup,one tournament don't make you a bad player,think terry,lamps and gerrard have all had poor tournaments but they are all world class players on their day

Its only two years to the Euro Championships and in that case give to Neville.

Beckham would have done the new manager a favour if he had waited to get the sack and let the new management team underline the "new way forward".

Lets hope we get back to when players cried only when they won and parties were held after the event and the skipper did not race to get into every photo opportunity available.

Neville has a positive influence on the England team with or without the armband on, JT is a great leader anyway, but has something extra when skipper, (see last 10 mins Vs. Ecuador), has shown influence since his early years, he smashed vialli up in the air when he gave him his first training session with the then chelsea first team, says it all about JT, scared of nothing, Stevie G doesn't need an armband to be a leader, same as neville, lead by example. JT for me!!!
