Saturday's coach.........

Calm down Old son...or you won't make Saturday !

If you want to play an Enfield team in Enfield, then Enfield Town are your team.

If you have any knowledge at all, about this level of football, you wil know the history, so why try to drag it all up again ?

Can't be bothered.

All you need to worry about on Saturday is how to get to Enfield.

When you play the "other Enfield" find your way to Ware up the A10.

No then....calm down.

Urchins have already played Enfield Town - it was a pre-season match two years ago - here's the line up

Mon, 09-Aug-04, Enfield Town, A, 2-1, Att 132, Madden, Shepherd, Spackman, Makitu, Philip, Light, Everett, Doyle, City, Maynard, McDowell, Panzu / 11, Watson / 9, Howell / 1 – scorers Maynard 10, City 57

And to illucidate - Enfield FC are the team that currently play at Ware, having had a spell at Boreham Wood following the sale of their original ground - the last match on Southbury Road was a reserve cup final against Dagenham (result was 6-0 to Dagenham).

Enfield Town was formed by supporters of Enfield FC who expressed displeasure at the way the real Enfield was being run. They have always played their home games at Brimsdown - and what is unique (or rather, what was unique about Brimsdown? - it was the largest senior pitch in the country).

>>The last time I saw Enfield was in 1997 vs. Daggers & Redbridge. My first ever footie game

Is this the one you mean?

24-Apr-97, 631, - Dag line up -Gothard, Cole, Davidson C., Howard, Conner, Creaser, Parratt, Bird M., Rogers, Broom, Stimson, Mas – subs, John, Naylor for 8

Scorer was Stimson.

>>>Daggers lost..

No, they did not lose to Enfield at Enfield in 1997

On 24-Apr-97, they won 1-0

amd on 13-Sep-97 they won 2-1

And in the latter match, Paul Cobb scored one of the goals.

Vinny played in the second match, so did Sam Bass - cannot find any other Urchins connection in that match.

<img src="/forum/images/graemlins/bootyshake.gif" alt="" /> We are the complete opposite to MK dons.Enfield Town was voted for and set up by Enfield FC supporters. We reformed to save football in the local community.MK dons were set up against the express wishes of Wimdledon fans and moved 50 miles out of the local area.

The only difference between Afc Hornchurch and Enfield Town,is that you did not have a small band of supporters who decided to ignore the wishes of their fellow fans and keep the old name going.Without that muddying of the water,Enfield Town would have reformed almost immediately back into the same club, just like you did and Aldershot 1993 before you.
